The lady who cleans my house is Anna, and today I met her older sister: Hannah.

They have a brother named Dan.

The whole set irks me a little, especially the Anna/Hannah. What were their parents thinking?

Not pregnant, nor did I impregnate anyone else, I just came across this quite some time ago and have always liked the sound.

Mistral Catch.

I'm a fan of weird names (like Moon Unit Zappa - yes, I actually like that). What do you think?

Indiana Rose

Wdyt? Personally, I don't like Indiana, although I like "Indy" as a nickname... maybe Indigo would sound better, but paired with Rose, the kid would have a very colourful name. I also don't like Rose because it seems like a filler name just like Marie.

WDYT of Dexter?

It's growing on me.

My roommates friend's name is Sucelly. Pn. Sue-selly. Has anyone ever come across this spelling/pronunciation? I've never seen it before, i've always just seen Cecily.
Also Cipriana (SEE-pree-onna). Never heard that one before either.
Shy-Anne. Um... let's just make it blantantly obvious...
And there's my friends co-worker who really wants to make it obvious, and introduces himself "Hi, I'm Bob with one O." Haaaaaaaaaa......

What do you think of the name Zoe?

My favorite girls name is Peyton and I think Peyton and Zoe would be a nice set for sisters.

What do you think?

Julianna Margulies (Carol Hathaway from E.R.) gave birth to a baby boy, named Keiran Lindsay Lieberthal.

I don't like Keiran, but I love that he has my first name as a middle name;) I've never seen it actually used on a boy, so I love that she did.

Pretty

I have a girl in one of my classes named Pretty, yes Pretty. I thought she was just being cocky when she said I'm Pretty, but it's her real name. I can no longer look at her without cracking up. She said that she gets that response a lot. Thank God she wasn't hideous.

What do you think of:

Trent?

Dana? (On a girl, I find it bordering on obnoxious. On a guy, I think it's wonderful.)

Stormy?

Vegas?

Random? (This is another one of those "girl-sounds-obnoxious-guy-sounds-cool" instances, for me.)

Steve? (Exact opposite of the above this time!)

Rafael?

So I've basically been fascinated with names for as long as I can remember. I'm not planning on having any children for at least another 8 years but I really love thinking about names for my potential children.

When I was younger I used to favor the more unusual spellings but I've grown up from that now.

Some of my favorite names...

Girls; Emmeline, Annabelle, Isabel/Isabella, Molly, Lucy, Lilly, Helena

Boys; Liam, Jack, Max, Seamus, Sebastian

So I suppose I like classic names that are on the unusual side because they are not as widely used... (My name is Kathryn, so that may have something to do with it).

What do you guys think?

None of these are on my lists, nor am I really interested in adding them. I just wondered what people think of them:

BOYS
Joel
Damian
Wesley
Kelly
Randall
Stefan (pr. Stef-in)
Ian
Asa
Leland
Leigh

GIRLS
Anya
Anastasia
Lydia
Regina
Antonia
Colleen
Michaela (pr. Muh-kella)
Elianah
Arielle (pr. R-E-L)
Aimee
Shana (pr. Shaw-na)

ETA: In case you were wondering, I like Joel, Kelly(b), Stefan, Wesley, Asa, Leland, Anya, Lydia, Antonia, Arielle, and Aimee. I like Shana-pronounced-Shay-nah, and Michaela-pronounced-Muh-kella could grow on me. I don't like Regina, Colleen, Leigh (feminine spelling; love Lee, though), or Randall. I'm indifferent about the others, but thought they sounded different/interesting compared to the ones we often hear in this community.

I met a little boy with ADHD named Rowdy the other day. I asked his mom if it was a nick name because he was so...out of control. Alas, it was not.

WDYT?

Personally, I think it's a pretty dumb name, regardless of how fitting.

I was at the bowling alley today and ther was a little girl's birthday party a few lanes over. Her name was Elizabeth and I heard the names of a few of her friends too. Her friends were Summer, Ariel and Lady. I could not believe my ears.

So, I'm watching Don't Forget The Lyrics, and this little kid of on, kicking ass. He needs help from his backup, who is his godsister. And what might her name be?

Can'Dase Prn. Can-Dacey

I hate apostrophe names. A lot.

I really like the name Harrison, and I've always wanted to use James after my dad.

Do you immediately think of Harrison Ford?
Would Harrison James sound too much like Harry James (Potter)?

What names do you like but hesitate to use for similar reasons?
[identity profile] maeda.livejournal.com
I'm posting too much, I know, but I love to find out what people think.

Delilah?

Thursday?

Artemis?

Sierra?

Jaixen?

Jareth?

Ipheion? (I've never seen it used, but I like the sound of it on either boys or girls.)

Sasha? (I much prefer this one on boys.)

Clarelle?
