Jan. 31st, 2008 09:16 pmSo I've basically been fascinated with names for as long as I can remember. I'm not planning on having any children for at least another 8 years but I really love thinking about names for my potential children.
When I was younger I used to favor the more unusual spellings but I've grown up from that now.
Some of my favorite names...
Girls; Emmeline, Annabelle, Isabel/Isabella, Molly, Lucy, Lilly, Helena
Boys; Liam, Jack, Max, Seamus, Sebastian
So I suppose I like classic names that are on the unusual side because they are not as widely used... (My name is Kathryn, so that may have something to do with it).
What do you guys think?

We actually have pretty similar taste in names, I think, but there's not much overlap.

I remember a few years ago when Olivia was uncommon. Ugh, trendy names!

Date: 2008-02-01 02:27 am (UTC)I'm fond of the name Emily but I feel it is overused.
And honestly, I don't like that spelling of Annabelle either, it's too long but my mind went completely blank for a bit and I forgot my spelling of it. I like Anabel much better, like the poem. : D

Date: 2008-02-01 02:29 am (UTC)Anabel is just so much...prettier? I don't know. Like I said, though, I prefer just Anna. Or even Anya, which is gorgeous and a great name, without being overly common.

Date: 2008-02-01 03:11 am (UTC)I really like the idea of a tiny family of Emmeline, Sebastian and Jack. Unfortunately it is a bit difficult to name children around my probably future last name, haha. It's been called a "goofy" sounding name so it complicates things a bit.

Date: 2008-02-01 02:41 pm (UTC)Liam, Jack, and Max (Maxwell) are all on my list of favorites, too. Sebastian and Seamus aren't bad, either.
Very nice.
