Delilah- I prefer Lilah, one of my new favorites

Thursday- The only day name I really like is Wednesday, and only a little

Sasha- I like it on either, I just can't use it because of mean girl I knew once.

I love sierra, but I like it spelt Ciara. Only cause I know someone named Ciara, and she's an awesome person. =]

But I LOVE Sasha, on either sex. ;D

...But...Ciara is not the same name.

I know its not the same name but its pronounced the same as Sierra. Just sayin'. ;\

Sierra is a word-name. see-AIR-ah.

I've only heard Ciara pronounced KEER-ah or key-AHR-ah, never with a soft c.

Your pronunciation was recognizable as the word. I was just trying to illustrate the difference between Sierra and Ciara, and was directing my reply more toward [livejournal.com profile] my_goat_henry anyway--just followed the thread, sorry.

wellps, It seems like I'm just used to seeing/hearing Ciara and Sierra the same way.
see-air-uh is how I'd pronounce both.

Though, now that you mention it, I love the name Chiara. It's my besties name. ^__^
And yes, pronounced Key-arr-uh. ;]

I knew a Sierra and a Ciara and they were both pronounced them the same, also.

I love Delilah and Sierra, and I really like Artemis, Jareth, and Sasha.

I would think Ipheion would be pronounced ih-FAY-on, but I don't really know. Either way, they're very pretty. (http://pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/files/Ipheion/Ipheion_uniflorum_Alberto_Castillo.jpg)

I don't care for Jaixen, especially as you're pronouncing it. Clarelle seems sort of bland, to me, and I don't like any day-names.

Delilah is pretty, but may be a bit of a difficult name to bear if you live in a very Christian area.

Thursday and Ipheion are a bit out there, but could make good middle names with a plainer first name. I like Delilah Thursday or Sasha Ipheion.

I think Jaixen is an awkward name. It looks too much like it should be pronounced like Jake-son, or Jay-Chen, and the Jy-zen pronunciation sounds like someone has a hard time saying "Jason."

Clarelle sounds too contracted to me, like Claire Ella or Clarabelle slurred.

Love love love Delilah. It's one of my favorites, but I can't get past the Biblical connotations enough to use it. I love the nicknames of Delia and Lilah, though.

I also like Sasha on boys (not on girls, though), and Clarelle could grow on me but sounds made-up. I don't like Artemis (although, again, it could grow on me), and I hate Thursday, Sierra (sounds very white trash to me), Jaixen, Jareth, or Ipheion.

I like:

Delilah
Sierra
Sasha (for a girl)

No to Thursday, Artemis, Jaixen, Jareth, and Ipheion.

Hmmmmmmm....Delilah is so pretty, and adorable at the same time, very sweet name. Thursday is fun, and I can picture a very kewl, eccentric, intelligent girl having that name...makes me think of the song "Thursday's child by David Bowie". Artemis...not so much...although Art is a nice nickname. Sierra...hmmmmm...I used that name for years as a roleplaying character....so my opinion on it is a little like love/hate. Jaixen- just a silly misspelling of Jackson- don't want to spend your entire life saying "No, it's J-A-I-X, not J-A-C-K-S". Jareth is pretty cool...I actually have it on my list :D. Ipheion...ummm...no...just no, please. Sasha is great for a boy, little slutty for a girl. Clarelle....mmmmm....no....definitely not grooving on that one....

delilah and artemis (girl, not boy) are the only two i would consider using. ipheion could be nice too, and thursday would be a guilty pleasure name. :)

sierra is okay, but i'm not a fan. jaixen and jareth = :_( i feel like jareth is just a bad misspelling of jared, which i don't really like in the first place, and i can only hear jaixen in a fake southern accent: "j-ayk-son!" :P sasha's nice, but i just don't like it... clarelle strangly makes me think of makeup. clairol? isn't that something? hmm...

I like Artemis. I dislike the rest, with Delilah topping the list of ickitude. But it's very Now, so you'd probably get a lot of young mother approval with it.

Delilah - I never liked this name, but it was finally starting to grow on me. Every time I hear that song, though, I just want to stab someone in the face (namely that whiny-voiced singer), and the name has fallen back into my dislike zone.

Thurday - I'm a sucker for day names, but on a guilty pleasure level, I suppose. I think it would work great for a cat, though.

Artemis - Pretty and unusual. Some girls might be able to pull it off. I'm a fan of Diana, myself.

Sierra - Noooooooooo.

Jaixen - Naw.

Jareth - Naw.

Ipheion - I foresee problems with spelling and pronunciation.

Sasha - Not a big fan, but I like it a little better on boys.

Clarelle - I'd prefer plain old Claire. My first thought when I read Clarelle was that it sounds like a brand of champagne.

Delilah- Love love love. Don't know if I would use it, but I do love it.

Thursday- Not a fan of any -day names.

Artemis- Ok, but I think of the book. Sounds like a cat name.

Sierra- ok

Jaixen- Hate

Jareth- ok

Ipheion- Looks cool, but I don't know how it is pronounced. If-E-In?

Sasha- I like on both boys and girls.

Clarelle- Pretty, but I personally wouldn't use it.
