Mistral Catch.

I'm a fan of weird names (like Moon Unit Zappa - yes, I actually like that). What do you think?

I third this. Mistral sounds kind of cool, but I really don't like verbs as names so Catch is out. Together it sounds like a fishery or urine sample method.

I doubt it. Kids have a tendancy to avoid real terms for things, and if you're being teased about your name by the time you're in high school and college, it's probably not really because of your name.

I knew lots of kids in school that would use real terms for peoples names, no matter what they were. Even if it was like Peter, John, Mary...if a kid wants to make fun of someone, they'll find a way to do it.

In my experience kids really don't care what your name is if they like you. If they don't they'll find more ways than just your name to poke fun.

mistral makes me think of the wind in spain which isn't a bad thing. sounds kind of mysterious and wild. hate catch and all the moon unit stuff.

I like the sound of it, and Mistral is a word-name I think actually works, but Catch is a little too out-there for me. Makes the name sound like the parents caught the baby as the wind blew it along.
