A few names I've come across in the last few days, in real life and on tv.

Recent posts got me thinking on my mothers list of maybe names, and I was interested to hear peoples comments

So, I'm a girl called Steve, just Steve on the birth certificate. I've grown to love it, but suffice to say I didn't used to and it brings with it certain ... difficulties. That said, in many ways I did have a lucky escape:

Names my mother was considering:

Storm (this was her number one choice right up until the last minute - she was still umming and ahhing when she registered me as Steve)
Angel
September
Friday

On the other hand, she also gave serious consideration to

Rae
Lois
Antonia
Sian
Natalie

Random selection, eh?

Any thoughts? Any near misses you would like to share?

A friend of mine had a baby boy last week: Jacob John Alexander.

I like it except that right away when I heard it the tune of that song 'Johhhhn Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt' popped into my head.

My name is Kystal, my husnand is Jacob and our son is Jack.  We are starting to TTC #2 (kind of?  long story).  I feel like our next baby should start with a "K" sound.  What do you think about that?  Totally lame or a good idea?

I went onto babynames.com and was horribly disapointed in their "K" and"C" names for boys.  I don't want something popular...Jack is way too popular now, *sigh*.

So far I have "Kirk" for a boy and "Chloe" and "Clementine" for girls.

(When I was pregnant, our chosen names were Edward & Alice...just to give you an idea to our "tastes" in names)

Any comments/name suggestions would be lovely!

We finally agreed on the second name for our twins. Leo Alexander Dealy. Thoughts/suggestions? His brother is Anders Joseph. I'm not fond of the name Leon.

My top picks for a boy and girl are Henry and Temperance. I don't think they makew a particularly good sibset though. Any suggestions on either girls name to go with Henry or boy names to go with Temperance?

And the name Josephine has sneaked onto my list.
WDYT?
Any middle name suggestions for it?
Or nicknames besides Jo or Joey (both of which I despise)?

Does anyone else feel like they've gone through all the names there are out there, and there's nothing new to discover? Well, at least nothing new to discover that you will like?

I'm new here and me and my partner have been talking about having children, and I already have one who I named Gavin Thomas, and I was wondering if anyone had some good, not too out there names but not quite normal ones that would work with his name....

I've been looking through my yearbooks from middle school, and I came across two names that have stuck in my mind.

Shantazia and Ebonyfire

WDYT?

Personally, I don't like those names.

Hi, I'm new to the community. I'm due in July and I'm having trouble choosing some names. We have one daughter named Anna Grace. Our last name is Brazile (pronounced Brazzle) of Irish origin. If you can't tell, we're not into trendy trendy names. I want something timeless and classic but not boring.

So far, I've only got one name if the baby is a boy: Dylan Patrick, even though I think it may be too popular at the moment.

Does anyone have any suggestions on both boys and girls names?

Thanks!

So, I'm not having babies for another decade or so, but I'm still kind of annoyed about the fact that I don't really have any middle names for my favorite names — I end up using Elizabeth, Francesca, Jane, and Kate for all of the girls' names and James for all of the boys' names.
