My cousin is having a little girl 2 months before I'm due. (she's due in September, I'm having a boy in November). I just got the invitation to her baby shower today which revealed her baby name.

Hayslee Diane

I at least give her credit because she's a few steps ahead of me in the picking out names department...for reference, Diane is my Aunt's middle name--she died 4 years ago and the baby is due on her birthday.

WDYT?

Also, still looking for "unique" names to go with the middle name MARK. So if any of you have suggestions, I'm all for 'em at this point.

Another couple lists from my trusty name book! :P

And, at the other end of the spectrum:

ETA: Speaking of names not to be able to live up to, one of my roommates' co-workers is named Serene. From what I've heard, while she's a nice person, she's also very angry and irritable a lot. Hehe, makes me laugh.

What are some full names for the nickname Maisie? (Pronounced MAY-zee; for a girl, although it is also a pet name for my husband, James, for weird reasons I don't understand).

Behindthename.com says it's a shortened form of the name Mairead, which is Scottish for Margaret.

Game!

I thought up a fun idea for a game!

Post the following:

your name (first and middle)
your significant other's name (first and middle)
*don't worry about this if you don't currently have one*
and your favorite first and middle names - 2 for each gender *and if you already have kids, their names*

And then...

future commenters offer two other first and middle names for each gender based on your names and your faves!

Sort of a do-it-yourself Nymbler!

(I'll leave mine in the comments)

Hi all, I'm a newbie here. My fiance and I are TTC, and about to take a pregnancy test on Saturday. We pretty much agree on names for the ba, whenever it may come. The baby's last name will be Scott. The boy name we've picked out that we both absolutely love is Connor Jaxon. The girl name has been a little more difficult. We both love the name Holly, but can't really agree on a middle name. He likes Nicole, which is okay, and I love Elizabeth, which he thinks is just okay. Any thoughts?

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself. I'm Jen, and I live with my fiance in Missouri. *waves*

Have a great night. Gotta love insomnia. :)

So, my brother is having a boy, to be C-Sectioned September 2nd.
He is naming him Hudson.

The first thing my dad said was "Hudson Hawk" and all I can think of is "Rock Hudson"

WDYT?
Any middle name suggestions for this name?

I met a family with a set of twins today.
The girl was named Harley, the boy was named Quinn. Now, I love Batman a lot and Harley is one of my favorite characters, but this is just a bit....
What do you guys think? (I dislike it but then again I also dislike Harley and Quinn as first names in general. Esp. Harley for a girl).
Note: I am unsure if the parents were Batman fans or not so possibly it could have just been an unforseen slight, or it could have been intended.

My Godmother is expecting her 7th child (she adopted two kids inbetween having her own children)
She's planning on the first name being Alfie (after a friend who died of cancer when they were 14) and hasn't planned the middle name yet
Any ideas?

Her other kids are called:

Richard John (John after his father & uncle)
Emma Louise (was adopted at birth- they changed her name from Sophia Caitlin)
Shaun Richard (Shaun after his father (he has a different dad to the first child) and Richard as they gave their first child the choice of what to name his brother)
Holly Ann (also adopted. She was originally Michaela Raine)
Teigan Leigh (Leigh is the mothers middle name)
Joshua Ryan Lee (Lee is also after the mother & Ryan is the fathers middle)

The mother is Susan Kelly Leigh and the father is Sean Michael Ryan.

Hi all!

My husband and I are currently trying for a baby. Since he's incredibly picky about names, I've decided we're going to pick two choices for each sex BEFORE I'm pregnant, because if I have to deal with his 'pickiness' while full of hormones, I might kill him.

Boy names were easy- we had two right away. Girl names, however, were quite a bit harder. After showing him a list of a trillion girl names, he picked a few he liked that coincidentally, I liked as well.

We've got some contenders for first AND middle, but I'd like to hear your opinions as to the best combos. Last name begins with an "N," ends with an "N," and is two syllables.

Choices this a-way )

Thanks in advance for any help!

my husband and i are expecting our first child. even though, i'm only 8 weeks along, i feel obessed with finding the perfect name. my name (crystal) as well as my husband's entire name (jarratt michael v------) are all 7 letters. we both thought it would be cool to do the same to our child (and if we do it to the first, the next one-or two!- will also have to have the 7-7-7 names!) i like names that are naturally seven letters. i don't want to twist the spellings around too much to make them seven letters.

my list so far:
boys
lincoln
matthew
breckin
griffin
brittin
timothy
michael

girls
madelyn
presley
kennedy
savanna
rebecca
bridget
adeliah
addison
jessica

i'm not looking for "i love this name, i really hate that name" comments, i'm just looking for ideas of more 7 letter names, boys or girls, common or unusual.

So I work at a jewish camp and I have never come across half of the names i hear or the spellings.

Lets start with boys

Asher- now this is one of the most common along with Michael, Davids and such. I was told that this is a really popular name within the jewish community i guess. I never really heard it outside of camp.

Noam- Again I am told this is a very jewish name.

Caden- also has two brothers named Dylan and Grayson

Avi- not comon at all

Then the normal but not so common names

Paul- Only heard this a couple times at camp including the kid I work with

Jeffery

Theo

Brian/ Ryan- surprisingly these names i barely hear in camp but out of camp i hear it all the time.

Girls turn

Not so common

Alice

Shayla

Noa- pronounced Noah

Cordelia

Abigail/Abby- This name is so common at camp, its crazy.

Gabby- very common

Hannah- very common

Sarah/Sara- of course tons of Sarah's but only two Sara

That is all that really comes to mind right now. Mind you there are alot of kids at camp and you only see and hear so many.

Two horrible spellings of names that I've seen recently:

Ahryel aka Ariel
Rieleigh aka Riley. And it was just made worse by the fact that it was on a boy.
