ETA: Speaking of names not to be able to live up to, one of my roommates' co-workers is named Serene. From what I've heard, while she's a nice person, she's also very angry and irritable a lot. Hehe, makes me laugh.

I knew a Bambi in school. In elementary school the mother used to dress her up in these cowgirl looking outfits too which just made it weirder.

I believe her first name was Nicole which is so normal compared to Bambi. At least she has that to fall back on if she hates it ever?

I really love Birdie/Byrdie and Poppy, but would probably only use Birdie/Byrdie for a nickname and Poppy I want my kids to use as a pet name for my dad (but it probably won't stick because my family has called our grandparents "Grandma" and "Grandpa" FOREVER).

I would add Adonis to the first list. I like a few of those - Atlas would make a cool middle.

I know people who have or whose kids have a lot of the names on the first list, including an Achilles and a Zoltan (actually Zolten, but still). I wouldn't say they're having a problem living up to their names.

I saw an Achilles on television the other day. I think I'm in the same place as you with Cassandra, I like it, but not really enough to use it. Maybe for a middle name.

My mother's name is Dolly Kay. Her sisters are Melinda Gale(she goes by Gale) and Karen Leigh. My mom's name suits her. My dad calls her Doll(and a few other family members) but for the most part she goes by Kay.
