My cousins keep popping out babies (and every time I can feel my mother looking at me like I'm next!)

So, in the past few months alone we've gotten:

Cade Christopher - I hate alliteration and the name Cade, so I hate it. Everyone wanted him to be named Christopher after his grandfather who died really suddenly a few years ago and was awesome.
Megan and Micah - female fraternal twins. Megan's too bland for me and I refer Micah for boys.
Carlita - who joins her sister Raquel, my cousin's husband is mexican (like, moved here when they married mexican) and their names are Rachel and Carlos, so the babies are Raquel and Carlita (who they call Carly) i think it's cheesy, and i don't like either name

my other cousins already had (i put m or f where it wasnt obvious):

Emma and Matthew
Katie and Grey (m)
Chloe and Macy
Timothy (Timmy) and Michael and Anna
Shelby and Gabriel (Gabe)
-- love this name and
Fredrick (Fred) and Xavier
Alexis (Lexy) and Cassandra (Cassie)
Katie (another)
Helen Catherine
Paul

and i'm forgetting a few, which is pretty sad, but geez there's tons of them!

on the other side of the family only one cousin has a baby, Grace Constance which I think is beautiful. Grace and Constance are both family names on my fathers side, though this baby is the first Grace to go by Grace instead of her middle name (my grandmother goes by Bernadette and my aunt goes by Connie even though they're both named Grace).

my boyfriend asked me a bit ago if i popped out a baby right now what would I name it, I said Lennon if it was a girl, but he said no, so i said Augustine (augus-teen) and if it was a boy Curtis after him. I'd want the girl to be Augustine Catherine for my mother but if i had another girl i'd probably make her middle name Denise which is his mothers middle name and my first name.
Augustine and Curtis are a kind of bad sounding sibset though, haha.

thoughts on any/all of these names?

Nancylynn. WDYT? I don't think it's actually that bad, it's just a little weird how it's smushed together like that. Not normally two names that would be put together.

My soon-to-be-husband wants Summer.
I want Molly.

Either way the middle name is Evelyn and our last name is Raymo (Ray-mo).

1) Which do you prefer, Molly or Summer, just as a first name?
2) Which do you think sounds better with the last name?
3) Do you think it would be weird to name a child born in the winter, "Summer"?

I really like Rebecca.  But I hate the nicknames Becky and Beka!  Any alternate suggestions?

Good Afternoon Everyone!

My lovely husband and I just got the exciting news we will be expecting in January...time to start seriously considering names...

Boys:
Cohen Nash
Hudson
Reynolds
Maddox

Girls:
Matilda Ryan
Marley Ryan
Madeline
Evie

I'm struggling with middle names, if you can't tell. I'm debating using Olive, after Abigail Breslin's character in 'Little Miss Sunshine' as a middle name for Evie...Evie Olive. Not too sure how it sounds...

Suggestions? Comments? Hate mail?

So, my aunt is pregnant with her second child, a girl.  Her son is almost 19 and his name is Christopher James.  The new baby will be named Faith Elizabeth.  My great grandma died about two weeks before my aunt found out about the pregnancy and her name was Virginia Elizabeth, so I am guessing that is what Elizabeth is from.  Faith seems pretty appropriate for the situation too, since my aunt is 45 and she and my uncle tried for 17+ years to get pregnant again.

Also, here are some names of people I knew from high school and some of their siblings.  Both families are interestingly enough Mormon.

I am missing a bunch of siblings from this family:
Kaija (kai-yuh)
Joonas (pron. like Jonas)
Antti
Juko

This family is of Polynesian descent and I'm missing 6 other siblings:
Melama "Marcy"
Apelila
Lelei
Nyoka "Nikki"

Hubby and I love the whole second middle name thing.

Our son's name is Dylan Thomas Hazzard. Obviously the name holds significance for the poet - but he is really named Dylan Thomas for Bob Dylan and my mother, Tommi.

But I like the name Clinton for a second middle name. For the historic canndiate in the democratic primary and also for the president.

Hubby doesn't like Clinton, but likes Jefferson for William Jefferson Clinton.

But how stupid would that be? Dylan Thomas Jefferson? Our baby would have way too much to live up to. lol

[Poll #1199411]

It's hard doing boys names because the ones we like are all -en, and Holden Kevin (etc.) sounds ridiculous.

PS I love this comm.

Hi everyone! Got a question on name etiquette for you all:

My fiance and I are always talking about names for our future children. Without providing too much information, my fiance's name is something like John Edward Baker IV...but not as appealing. He goes by his 3 initials which make a not-so-bad name (better than Jeb.) Anyway, he is insistent that, if we have a son, we name him said name. Problem is I seriously dislike it.

We talked about it again last week and I mentioned possibly using my last name as a first name and his first as a middle name. It has a nice ring to it and it would be honoring both of our fathers. He really liked it and I thought I was in the clear. Until last night when he told me he wasn't sure he wanted to do it anymore and that we could use my last name for our 2nd child.

I understand the significance of it and I don't want to be disrespectful, but don't I deserve a say in what we name our future children? Am I just being selfish? Has anyone ever been in this situation?

I know that I am talking like we've already got a kid in the works, but it's just something I'd like to have resolved for the when the time comes.

Also, on the topic of funny/sad names:

A few years ago a doctor friend of mine told me about a teenage mother who gave birth at his hospital. She wanted her child's name to sound like "Ash-oh-ley." The nurses asked if she meant Ashley, but she insisted it should be "Ash-oh-ley." So when asked how to spell it, she said - A-S-S-H-O-L-E. Assh-o-le. Asshole.

I always thought my friend was BS-ing me, but my mom (who is a teacher) recently came home telling of a little girl that just enrolled and her name is Asshole. That is just AWFUL!

My friend is going to visit her new baby cousin this weekend so of course I asked what his name was:

Barrot Daushin

I'm totally not sure on the exact spelling, tell me if you know the names and I'll edit the post spelling them correctly lol. Barrot rhymes with Parrot and Daushin is pronounced Daw-shin. I've never heard either of those names before and we both agreed we didn't like it. WDYT?

Baby name!

I'm 12 weeks pregnant, and I want to see how you guys like the names we've picked out. I'm unfortunately a bit boring, as we really don't need suggestions, just opinions.

James Kenneth Huff -My husband is Kevin Kenneth. This baby would be the seventh boy in his family to have the name Kenneth.

Daphne Margaret Huff -My sister is Amelia Margaret, my mother is Margo Lee, and my grandmother is Margaret Isobella. If I'm feeling charitable, my mother in law is Mary, so we could stretch and call this related to her name too.

WDYT?

I'm Katherine Elizabeth. My MIL really really wants us to use another K name, as "we have a theme started already with our names". Does anybody under the age of 50 and over 19 find this cute? We don't like any K names, and even if we did, we wouldn't want to be the KKK!
