I really like Rebecca.  But I hate the nicknames Becky and Beka!  Any alternate suggestions?

My best friend's name is Kathryn, and any time people try to call her Katy, Kat, or Kathy, she corrects them and tells them "No, my name is Kathryn". It might be annoying, but if you name a child that and CALL them Rebecca and not a nick name, people will follow suit. I have a friend who is Rebbecca and NOT Becky.

That's definitely true ... then again, if the child decides that she *does* like being called Becca or any other nickname that you don't like, there's not a lot you can do about it, beyond not calling her that yourself. But that goes with just about any name you can come up with.

Reba, Rebba, Rebbie, or Riva were the first to come to mind.

In Italy a Rebecca would soon go by Reby.
I actually only like Rebecca and dislike all possible nicknames.
Beck is not bad, though. If only Becks weren't a beer brand..

Reba?

I also hate Becky and Becka, but I've always liked Rebekah nn Bekki for some reason. I don't know why. (It's a legit spelling, btw; in fact, Rebekah is the original spelling of the name).

Well, the ORIGINAL spelling isn't in the Roman alphabet, so pretty much anything that approximates the original sound is as correct as any other.

I also like the Rebekah spelling..of course, I'm a little bias because that's my name! :D

And i've gone by Bekki, Becki, Bekka and Becky and any other "Beck" nickname my friends can come up with!

I've heard of a guy being named Rebekah. In that case, I doubt anybody would call him Becky or Becca... hehe.
