Good Afternoon Everyone!

My lovely husband and I just got the exciting news we will be expecting in January...time to start seriously considering names...

Boys:
Cohen Nash
Hudson
Reynolds
Maddox

Girls:
Matilda Ryan
Marley Ryan
Madeline
Evie

I'm struggling with middle names, if you can't tell. I'm debating using Olive, after Abigail Breslin's character in 'Little Miss Sunshine' as a middle name for Evie...Evie Olive. Not too sure how it sounds...

Suggestions? Comments? Hate mail?

Boys:
Cohen Nash - Like the first HATE the middle
Hudson - Cute
Reynolds - Reminds me of Ryan and I LOVE him but don't think it works for a first name
Maddox - It's my sons middle names so it's love

Girls:
Matilda Ryan - Dislike the first, love the second
Marley Ryan - Love both!
Madeline - It's okay
Evie - It's okay but it's to nick name sounding and can't picture it on an adult.

Evie Olive - TERRIBLE. Sounds awful together.

I love Marley and Madeline. Evie Olive... well I don't really like the name "olive." Maybe "Olivia." Maddox and Hudson are my favorite of the boys names that you have chosen. I would choose something like Evie Adara or Evie Adele. Maybe Evie Lilah, Evie Dylan, Evie Diane, or what about Evie Madeline?

I love the name Coen, only I'm planning to spell it without an H. Olive rocks!

All your boy's names sound so much (or are) last names...but I do like Nash.
I also really like Marley and Matilda.
I prefer Madeleine to Madeline...but that's just personal preference.
As for Evie...how about a longer name with Evie as a nickname? Some suggestions:

Evalyn/Eveline
Evangeline
Evana
Evanthe
Evangelia
Evania
Geneva
Genevieve

Also, I loved Little Miss Sunshine, but the name Olive always reminds me of, well, olives.

Another Madeline? I am so tapping this for fastest-rising name between the 2007 and 2008 chart. Christ on a cracker.

My best friends name is Olivia and I've called her Olive for years but I don't know, I don't like it much as a name rather than nickname.

I dislike Evie Olive, mainly because I feel like Evie could be a nickname for Olive.

I love Little Miss Sunshine, what a good movie! However, don't love the name, and don't particularly love it with the first name Evie...

That said, I think I like all of your names. Reynolds is the only one I'm not really crazy about.

My favorites are Hudson, Maddox and Marley. =)

I don't like Evie as a full first name. Why not Eve, Evelyn or Evangeline?

I like Hudson and Maddox. I really dislike Marley for a girl, especially with a name as masculine as Ryan.

They're all super trendy. I do like Matilda, though. I also like Madeline, but combine all the Madelines, Madeleines, Madelyns, Madisons, etc., and man oh man. Out of the boys' names, I like Cohen the best. Maddox just makes it look like you're obsessed with celebrities or something. Evie would be a nice nickname for Evelyn, or Eveline, or Evangeline, or Evanna, or anything else that starts with 'Ev', but it seems too informal on its own.

I will say something nice though, since apparently I'm way ~harsh~. I adore all of your other name choices.

For boys I'm not crazy about any of them, but I don't mind Hudson.

I like both Matilda and Marley a lot, and Ryan is a name I balked at at first, but I actually don't mind it as a middle name, because it can just look like the mother's maiden name or something, which I think is cute. But Madeline is way too popular these days. I'm not fond of Evie (I do like Eve, though). Evie and Olive individually would be okay, but together it becomes too old-fashioned for my tastes.

I've actually grown to like Matilda; it's a friend's middle name, and it works really well with her.

Evie Olive sounds awful. And Olive is one of my favourite names, so it's not that I don't like it, but they just sound so bad together.

Im planning to name my first son Cohen. That is my top boys name, and I am aware of its meaning to the Jewish religion, which I am not apart of but I do respect. I like the sound of it and I saw it from the Coen Brothers, and thought it was such a nice last name and could pass as a first name, I looked it up a while ago and saw that it could be spelt Cohen and loved it ever since.

There are so many names that can be offensive for people, such as someone naming their child after a saint, or naming them Jesus, or Nevaeh is offensive to some people. You shouldnt take that to seriously.

For all your other names, I love them all except Evie, maybe you could find something that that name could be the nn for :]

Dude, Cohen Nash would have to be a bad. ass. Like, I'm envisioning Jack Daniels straight from the bottle, an electric guitar held without the strap, and the Metalicar.

Boys:
Cohen Nash -- Sounds last-name-y, and "Nash" brings to mind redneck connotations for me (and I live in the south).
Hudson -- Ditto with the redneck.
Reynolds -- Last-name-y.
Maddox -- Favorite of your boys' list, but I do think of Angie Jolie. =/

Girls:
Matilda Ryan -- I love Matilda, and this combination works well.
Marley Ryan -- "Marley" is too masculine with "Ryan." I'd go with either Matilda or Madeline if you want to use Ryan as a middle name, but I do like Marley with a more feminine middle name.
Madeline -- Love "Mad-ah-line" but not crazy about "Mad-uh-lyn."
Evie -- Love as a nickname for Evelyn (not Evalyn, this looks misspelled).

I like Olive as a nickname for Olivia. I'd try to give her something else to go by in case she grows up and decides that Olive isn't cute anymore. Good luck!

I like Olive and Evie/Eve, but not together. The repeating V sound is a little much. From the names you like, I like combining them to make Marley Olive and Eve Marley as well as Madeleine Olive and Matilda Eve.

A no to Evie Olive. I love Evie but like it better as a nickname because it does not sould like a stand alone name. I really like Olive too. It's the combo that sounds anappealing. The name Evie exists in the name Olive, all the same letters are there so it looks a little off. I do like Marley Ryan, even though I don't usually like boy names on girls. Maybe it's because I like the actress Marley Shelton?
