I don't know if she'll get mad at me for posting but whatever. They're my neices! haha

My sister is pregnant with twin girls and she's picked out names. Personally, I love them. I just wanted to post and see what every one thought. :)

Heidi Elizabeth (Elizabeth is my and my grandmother's middle name)
Gretchen Elyse (Elise is a form of Elizabeth and is the father's great grandmother's and aunt's middle name)

:)

I love the name Bethany, but my last name is Stein. Would it be cruel to give a child the initials B.S.??
Oh and I would call her Bethany, not Beth or Betsy, so Elizabeth or Lizbeth are out as alternatives.
Thanks for your input!

my boyfriend and I talked about our future kids yesterday and I showed him my "fave-names-list"
as I knew before he wasnt so enthusiastic about my names ^^
immediately he started to make an own list

my fave names :
caleb
evan
damian
ryan
joel - his daughters name is jule..so joel is off my list

delilah
dakota
madison
ava

his fave names :
paul roy

nina
saskia
svenja
lili

my son´s name will not be paul roy..no..never...

we both like summer and ella...but I guess these are not the perfect names for my babygirl to-be ^^
I suggested to name our daughter delilah so he could give her the nickname lili....we´ll see :P

:) WDYT ?

I would like to hear your "babyname" stories....
how did you find your babyname...

how did you decide ?
was it easy or not ?

Although I'm not expecting anytime soon, my parents and I talked about future baby names, for the hell of it. Here is my A-Z of Girls & Boys... plus my parents (especially my father) really wants a Russian name which is going to be a whole different post. :\

My husband and I have three sisters combined: Kelly Jean, Elyse Marie and Lenee' Catherine. We've kidded around about naming a girl after our sisters. What combination of the six names do you all like best?

Also, I love the name John. Not Johnny or Jack, but JUST John. We've pretty much decided on this name. We are arguing about a middle name. He likes Donald after his grandfather and I like William after my grandpa, two uncles, cousin and brother. What do you like better? John Donald or John William?

One more! My aunt is due in November and they're naming the baby Ryan Joseph. His brothers are William Thomas and Jack Carroll. What do you think of those names? Even though Carroll is a family name, I hate it as a boy name and Carol is my aunt's name.

Here's a conversation starter: what were the names of all your various "best friends" growing up? and would you ever consider using them?

My list:
Laura Phelps
Andrea Beth
Margaret
Michael Paul
Kelsey
Lydia
Valencia Hope
Noelle Marie
Chloe Ann
Chase Pierre
Jeremy Taylor
Christopher Peter
Jennifer Lynn
Genevieve Kwok-Yun
Matthew Edward
Whitney Taylor (female)
Angela Marie

Of those, i think the only combination i'd consider using is matthew edward (but probably wouldn't - i've known too many other matthews). for individual names i'd be most likely to use: margaret (family name), paul (but not as a first name - it's my last name), lydia, christopher, matthew, and edward (family name).

how about your friends?

I'm trying to come up with a good middle name for Lucia (loo-sha).

So far I've got Jade and haven't come up with much else...any ideas?

Is It a Bird? Is It a Plane? No, It's a Baby

WELLINGTON (Aug. 8) - A New Zealand couple is looking to call their newborn son Superman -- but only because their chosen name of 4Real has been rejected by the government registry.

When I saw this, I immediately thought of this community haha.
Poor kid, his parents are setting him up for a lifetime of ridicule.
Not to mention he's always going to feel inadequate because he won't have super strength and the ability to fly.

I stayed with a family in Japan for a summer a couple of years ago, and one of my "sisters" was/is named Momoko. In Japanese, I think the name is absolutely gorgeous. It means Peach-child/Peach-girl. In English though, I think it sounds kind of like a clown's name because of the repetition of the first syllable (like Bobo or Koko). I really love the connotations of Peach though- warm, sweet, summer etc.

Her sister was called Hanako (Flower-child/girl), and I think thats cute too. We always called them Momo and Hana.

What do you think? Even though I love the name, I don't think I could call an American child Momoko. Maybe a bird or a cat or something.

Is it just me or do a lot of people just not like creative ways of spelling names? Why is everyone so incredibly hung up on how their kids will be teased? I don't remember any kids getting teased for their names in school. They got teased more for their dress, for their hair, for their glasses, for "physical" appearance things and for sucking up to the teachers and being teacher's pet. I don't think that if someone spells a name with a different spelling that people should automatically put it on "the bad" list. I understand that some people are traditionalist, but why do so many people want to pull down the ones that want to be creative. Some people do get a little carried away, I'll give you that. But there are a lot of people out there who want to name their kids geek names, athletic names, anime names, etc. It depends on the parents interests. *shrugs* I don't know. What do you guys think? Is it just me that feels this way or am I alone in this?
