Initials

I love the name Bethany, but my last name is Stein. Would it be cruel to give a child the initials B.S.??
Oh and I would call her Bethany, not Beth or Betsy, so Elizabeth or Lizbeth are out as alternatives.

It wouldn't be cruel, I don't think. She may get teased a little bit but ultimately BS isn't bad. Bethany is a pretty name.

BS is an abbreviation for a bunch of things. I always type "I have bs tonight" and then realize no one knows I am talking about Bible study. I'm sure some people find that hilarious.

I don't think it's cruel either. It just is... abbreviations are so absurd now anyway because of the internet.

it's not the worst abbreviation that it could be, and i really like bethany. would there be a middle name? that would help a lot, i think. i dated a guy with the initials BO, but with his middle name in there it was BSO, which disguised it a bit. sure, i teased him, but i'm just a mean friend that way (totally lighthearted, no hard feelings).

oh, and i knew a girl growing up whose initials were PMS, and she had them on everything she owned. now that amused me.

i mean, britney spears' initials are BS, BJ (britney jean) & BJS...which all pretty much suck (no pun intended) & i'm assuming she's not as much of a mess as she is just because of her initials. :]

My initials when I got married are not BS and my last name starts "sob". Yeah, it would be cruel. :D

My initials are GIN, and while I had a few alcohol related jokes and comments, my initals don't play a huge part in my life. Mostly, I just use GN, so BS can always go by BAS, BHS, BFS, etc instead.

I really don't think people would notice. I know a Belinda who's last name is s (And she doesnt have a middle name) and no one has ever said anything.
