Last week I came across a woman named Yesterday. I have also recently met a girl (27 yrs old) named Tuesday. I knew a girl named September when I was in elementary school. I knew a girl named Memory in high school. Do these names seem odd to you? Names like April, May and June have been used for decades, but September still seems kinda weird to me. Of course we all know Wednesday Adams, but would any of you really name your child a day of the week? I kind of like Memory as a name. The Memory I knew in high school was fairly pretty and well liked and I don't recall her being teased about her name. WDYT about Memory? Any other similar names that you think are pretty or pretty odd?

I'm writing a fantasy story, and I'm trying to develop an aspect of my story that hasn't been developed yet. In the story, the two main characters, Avianne and Rigel, are trying to get to the Harperlurg (Port of Lurburgnarve) before Rigel's former associates catch up with them. Lord Andrew Luscious has his sister's men looking for them in Lurburgnarve, and have them chased into a dead end. They are fortunately rescued by some small boys, who let them hide under the floorboards until the Duke's men have left. They stay there for two days, being cared for by Misha Sap and her seven brothers. (The small boys are Misha's brothers.)

I'm trying to name each of Misha's brothers, and I've hit a dead end. For some reason I started naming them after literary characters who actually have names after them.

Oliver (Oliver Twist)
Nicholas (Nicholas Nickleby)
Peter (Peter Pan)
James (James and the Giant Peach)

But that's not a rule, just something I came up with because I was staring at my bookshelf.

And I just need three more names. I gave you background on my story in the hopes that you may have ideas as to what I can name the three other brothers?

Ideas?

My list...

These are the names I've compiled for girls and boys. Some names I'm not so sure about how they'd work out in real life.

Girls: Abigail, Ada, Aurora, Ayla, Ava, Asha, Aira, Analily, Cora, Ella, Eve, Eden, Evie, Elle, Fleur, Genesis, Grace, Hope, Honor, Ivy, Jane, Jersey, Joy, Liv, Lily, Lila, Lilibeth, Lula, Maya, Mara, Nora, Nina, Reagan, Rosalee, Rhiannon, Rihanna, Temperance, Violet, Veronica, Zoe

Boys: Abraham, Abram, August, Augustin, Archer, Beckett, Clark, Elias, Gabriel, Gideon, Isaiah, Jasper, Jediah, Jonah, Johan, Henry, Kingston, Kingsley, Keaton, Kiros, Kiernan, Kieran, Everett, Langston, Miles, Milo, Tobias, Weston, Grae, Heathrow, Grayer, Grayson, Samuel

Some are definitely more like middle names. Plus some I don;t think I'd really use, like Heathrow....I mean it's an airport and not a first name at all as far as I know...

Opinions? Middle name suggestions?

Teagan Madison Rayne (Should have named her Tryndee Trihndeigh Trenndi.)
Jenevy Zuhel
Aspen Journey
Llanna Dalila (Lalalalala.)
Larkyn Kenzie
Savannah Jorja (I kid you not. Savannah Jorja. Savannah, Georgia. I guess the figured the real spelling would be too obvious.)

There were three names I actually liked on here:

Maggie Kate (cute)
Victoria Rose (pretty)
Henry Alexander (masculine without being GUNNER or EARNHARDT or BLAZE STEEL MANMEAT HULKCRUNCH)

For some reason, my local paper and my parents' local paper don't do much when it comes to posting baby names. Anyway, I saw this and thought it was cute.

Just wanted to share the name of my friend's baby - Soraya. I think it's beautiful, even though people who might pronounce it more with an English or American accent (as opposed to Spanish, for instance) would make it sound like the first 3 syllables of "psoriasis". I really like it.

For all of you who already have kids, how did you come up with the names for your kid(s)? Were they just names you liked, or did you name your kids after someone?

For those of you without kids, when you do have kids, how much influence will you let your significant other have over deciding the name? Will it be a joint decision or will you push the name you like best?? Would you ever use a name that your SO hated?

Was randomly making lists of my favourite ten names for each sex... then I had fun imagining that I had boy/girl twins, and pairing up the names in combinations I thought were nice. What do you think?

1. Audrey - Beau
2. Claudia - Hugh
3. Saskia - Daniel
4. Evie - Jasper
5. Petra - Arthur
6. Harriet - Francis
7. Cassandra - Phillip
8. Thea  - Cadell
9. Darcie - Sam

And then there were Natalie and Rudyard (yes, as in Kipling... just because I like the name doesn't mean I would use it, don't worry!). I didn't like those two paired together and I didn't like either of them with any of the others... Natalie will just have to be an only child. :p

Slightly related: How do you pronounce Saskia? SAH-skia, SASS-kia or otherwise? I tend to say SAH-skia, is that technically correct?

Not sure

Some people I know just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and named her Carter Eros. It took me a minute but I don't think Carter is that bad of a name for a girl I'm not sure about Eros for a middle name though. What do you guys think?

Former Roseanne star Sara Gilbert is a mom.

The actress, 32, and partner Allison Adler welcomed daughter Sawyer Gilbert Adler on Aug. 2, Variety's Army Archerd reports.

The pair have a son, Levi, who's 3 years old.

Gilbert, who played daughter Darlene on Roseanne Barr's hit ABC sitcom, now has a recurring role on ER.

I like Sawyer...thats all I can really say.
