Just wanted to share the name of my friend's baby - Soraya. I think it's beautiful, even though people who might pronounce it more with an English or American accent (as opposed to Spanish, for instance) would make it sound like the first 3 syllables of "psoriasis". I really like it.

I like it, too! But I would just use Sariah for nearly the same effect in sound (to me). Hmmm, but I had never considered the spelling "Saraya" before.... might have potential!

I think that's a beautiful name. I think it was the name of Ben Kingsley's character's daughter in The House of Sand and Fog.

Wait.. wouldn't the Sor-RY-uh be the Spanish pronunciation and Sor-RAY-uh be the English? I thought "ay" sounded like "eye" in spanish? o.0 Dunno

Sor-RAY-uh sounds nice, Sor-RY-uh sounds like psoriasis, like you said.

I pronounce it so-rah-eee-ah. The spanish way. :) I love the name, but I think it's because of the Columbian singer. I loved her music. :)
