a friend and i were trying to figure out why we disagreed so significantly on names, and we realized that the names we hate the most are the ones that have been 'tainted' because of a not-so-pleasant acquaintance with the name.

so i'm curious, what names have been 'ruined' for you?

Some of them were friend's names (Amber, Lisa, Jacob) but the others weren't. I went to school with them all and the others were just skanky people. Every Seth I've known has been a total momma's boy wuss.

Gemma got ruined twice for me, first by an overweight girl I knew in my primary scoll who would steal things and then give them to people to make friends. Secondly at secondary school by a girl who was just so nice. She was kind and generous to everyone, and sucked up to all the teachers. And she spoke in an incredibly annoying and hig pitch voice. Emma was her best friend and was almost the same, just with less niceness. She ruined that name for me.
Blake is a name that I really love, but I just can't help associate it with a stoner kid that I used to hang out with. Not really the associate I would want to attatch to a child!

I worked at a daycare for 4 years so too many names have been ruined for me that I cant even begin to name them. Mason, Jake, Cody, Rachel, Isabelle, etc are just a few.

Also Bailey and anything that can or ever will be used for a dog name is ruined for me for humans... except chloe.. ive gotten over the fact that chloe is also a dog name.

Come to think of it, I've never liked that name anyway. Possibly because I didn't like the way the character Amy Sutton changed in the Sweet Valley Twins/High/all the rest of the books about those girls. *shrugs*
