I recently came across Elna. I can't decide if I think it's sweet and simple and nice, like Ella without the absurdly popular thing going on, or if it's more like an awkward version of Ella.

Also, I've liked Eleanore for a long time, but wdyt of Eleanora? I can't decide if I like it more or less. Probably less, but I wanted other opinions too.

And, here are my favorite girls' names right now.
Rosemary
Margaret
Susannah
Eleanore
(I think, whichever version's better overall, Eleanore goes better with the others.)
Annelise

Favorite boys' names.
Wesley
Samuel
Benjamin
William

From Wikipedia:
[Sarah Palin] married her high school boyfriend, Todd Palin, on August 29, 1988.[6] The Palin family lives in Wasilla, about 45 miles (72 km) north of Anchorage. The Palins have two sons (Track, 19, and Trig, four months) and three daughters (Bristol, 17; Willow, 14; and Piper, 7) [ages as of August 2008].[98] Todd Palin has said Track's name came from the interest Sarah's parents had in the sport and the fact that he was born in the sport's season; Bristol was named after Bristol Bay in Alaska, where Todd grew up and where he does commercial fishing; Willow was named after Willow, Alaska; Piper got her name because it is uncommon and "a cool name"; Trig's name is Norse for "strength".[99]

Here's a little LJ meme for you, based on how they chose names.

1)Your first-born will be named after your parents favorite sport: Baseball

2)Your second-born will be named after a nearby area that you're not from but you like the sound of part of the name, and maybe you have nostalgic memories of said place: Kettering

3)Your third-born will be named after another nearby place, for no reason other than you already have two children and don't have time to put much thought into another name: Richmond

4)Your fourth gets a "cool" name: Sly

5)Your fifth gets something mythological, possibly straight out of Lord of the Rings: Artemis

I was re-reading this book I adore and I came across the name Halvor and I think I may be in love...  I oddly like how this sounds in spanish and english, as many of you know the 'H' in spanish is silent and I am becoming fond of saying it that way too. I also like the meaning (guardian of the rock) and the character is just wonderful.  What do you all think? What middle names would you suggest for it? They don't have to be hispanic middel names =P

Edit: This is fo a boy, forgot to mention that.

Some sibsets from a magazine I pulled out of the newspaper:

- Keya (f) and Flynn (b) - mother is South African

- Ginger and Imogen

- Eenerweena, Merindah, Kalarnna - All girls, no idea what;s up with that first one but it sounds awful if you say it out loud.

And a step-stibset:
- Andie (g) and Holly - mother's name is Paleena.

I'm gonna start writing a story about vampires soon, and I was wondering: what names are appropriate for a male vampire and a female vampire?  Any help is appreciated.

PS.  Try not to use names from Twilight (i.e. Edward, Bella, Rosalie, etc.).. Thanks!

PPS. Any kind of name is welcome, no matter how "out there." :-)

If you're bored and you like voting on these things, by all means please do. Just keep in mind I like unique names that are still usable. I am a school teacher so I don't want to name my future kids something too common. Some of these names are a bit out there, but of course I respect it if that isn't your thing. :]

So I found some notes for an old story I was working on with a bunch of names I was in love with at the time. I wouldn't say they're OMGFantabulous now but I still like them a lot. A couple I made up, by combining two other names, there were also spellings that I loved.

Stevanie (pronounced Steve-Ahnee) (nn "Stevie") - means crown & grace
Ambervia (nn "Via" or "Ammi") - means amber & life
Vienna (nn "Vi" or "Enna") - from wine country (not one I made up)
Alannah (nn "Nahnah") - rock (not one I made up)
Lavinia (nn "Vin/Vinni" or "Nia") - woman from Rome (not one I made up)

And what do you think of:
Alannah Stevanie
Vienna Lavinia
Lavinia Stevanie
Ambervia Grace

My cousin will be having a boy next month. Originally she and her boyfriend were going to name him Christian Anthony (since the father is Anthony Christian). However, I just found out that they've changed their minds and they now plan on calling him:

Gage Anthony.

WDYT?
