Sep. 2nd, 2008 12:36 amI recently came across Elna. I can't decide if I think it's sweet and simple and nice, like Ella without the absurdly popular thing going on, or if it's more like an awkward version of Ella.
Also, I've liked Eleanore for a long time, but wdyt of Eleanora? I can't decide if I like it more or less. Probably less, but I wanted other opinions too.
And, here are my favorite girls' names right now.
Rosemary
Margaret
Susannah
Eleanore (I think, whichever version's better overall, Eleanore goes better with the others.)
Annelise
Favorite boys' names.
Wesley
Samuel
Benjamin
William
Nathaniel

Date: 2008-09-02 05:24 am (UTC)I like Eleanora, although I think I prefer just plain Eleanor (or Elinor). But Eleanora has the added benefit of the nickname 'Nora'...
As for Elna, I don't really like it, but I've always liked the name Elena (pr. ELL-en-uh).

Date: 2008-09-02 09:59 am (UTC)Personally, I like Ella better than Elna and I like Eleanore better than Eleanora.
I've also known someone called Elja by the way (pronounced EL-yah).

Date: 2008-09-02 01:17 pm (UTC)Elna is more awkward, I think, and Eleanora is way way way too much.

Date: 2008-09-03 02:18 am (UTC)and now for some random blabbing...
Rosemary= Don't really like this...I dunno. I do love classic names but this just does not do it for me. It's not bad at all, it just does not excite me.
Margaret= I would never use Margaret for a first name because I absolutely detest "Peg" and "Peggy". I do however, enjoy Maggie for a nn but I'm just not in love with Margaret.
Susannah= Pretty
Eleanore= love
Annelise= I like this a whole lot but would never use it because I have a close cousin Liseanne.
Wesley= Awesome
Samuel= like it a lot
Benjamin= Like it okay
William= good classic name, can't go wrong
Nathaniel= my number one boys name!!!!!
You do have good taste in names :)

Date: 2008-09-03 02:21 pm (UTC)I also love Rosemary and Susannah.
Wesley makes me think of various famous people with that name. I think Samuel is a little dreary and he'll be plain old Sam. William might be shortened to Bill or Will, both which are not that great in my opinion (Bill makes me think of old people, Will of annoying English boys). But I love Benjamin and Nathaniel and they'd go well with any of the girls' names you've chosen.
