Hi everyone. My name is Lena (last name is Gregory), I'm currently 29w2d with my first, a boy. I'm stumped for names, so here are some of my favorites.

(Some are with middle names, some without.)

VOTE on my Name List

Edit: There's no special reason for the list.. I just love names and coming up with different name combinations...

I am a schmuck. I was so excited to have Julia Michelle picked out as a name for my (potential) little girl. Still don't know what I am having. (13 days til the gender scan!!!)

But I am tempted by other names. I am unfaithful to my beautiful name. Poop. And that makes me sad.

Michelle is set. For sure. And I still love Julia. But some other names have come up on my radar that are great.

Kelly Michelle
Lucille Michelle (Luc)
Grace Michelle
Ella Michelle
Elisabeth Michelle (Which has been on my list since the beginning)
Sabrina Michelle (also on my list from the beginning)

Does anyone have this problem? Just terrible second-guessing? :)

So two of my absolute most favorite names are Lourdes and Bijou, and they have been since I was a kid. I've always thought they were really pretty but for some reason most people hate them, lol. It doesn't bother me because I love them regardless, but I'm curious as to what about them seems odd or ugly. I'd probably only use Bijou as a MN because I like it paired with Zara, and I like Lourdes Estelle.

I'm bored. Its lunch.

So here are some names that caught my attention today (some may be repeats from earlier posts, we get a lot of repeats unfortunately) -

WDYT?

Comment on the person above you's top five for each gender, and then post your own top five. For comments you can say things about the flow of the names, the popularity, how you like them in general, suggestions for other names that the person might like, etc. To make things cleaner, click "reply to post" instead of "reply to comment" so that instead of a long reply to one comment, we get a whole post full of comments. If you don't have a top five, don't worry about it, just post what you like! I'll start, and then the first commenter will reply to mine and then post their own.

Oliver Nathaniel
Gabriel Robert (Gabe)
Jonas Rory
Max Jeremiah
Miles Nicholas

Catherine Beatrice (Cate)
Juliet Madeline (Madeline prn. Madeline not Madelyn)
Charlotte Susannah
Miriam Audrey
Anna Caroline (again prn. Caroline not Carolyn)

Egg Baby

We have to take care of an egg baby for my psych class.  I am, of course, milking this naming opportunity for all it's worth.  with that said, here is the name of my Baby Precious:

Awmylet't Marie Elphaba Hermione Rosalie Ginevra Alice Nessarose Mimi Dumot-Schunard Du Fromage

The first name is in blatant mockery of those *idiots* who butcher perfectly fine names.  It is pronounced "omelette", by the way.

The middle names *with the exception of Marie which is of course a shout out to very common placeholder middle names* are all from faorite books/musicals.  Cool points awarded if you can figure out which ones they are from!

Du Fromage is the last name btw...making her Awmylet't (Omelette) Du Fromage :)

coming up is a list of my classmates egg babies!

I think I settled on a middle name for Alma :)
(for of those of you who missed my story-post, it's the name we have established for our daughter in the future) Just today we were browsing a bookstore, I picked up a baby names book, opened it randomly, and the first name looking up at me was...Alma!!! I could not believe my eyes :D

Anyway, like I imagined, SO says he doesn't really care for middle names, so he leaves the choice pretty much up to me! Also considering that middle names are not official in Italy, unless you're baptized.

WDYT of Alma Lucilla? :) (prn Loo-CHEEL-lah, but in some places you can hear something more similar to Loo-SHEEL-lah)

It's a name that has come up in a couple of movies we watched together, and it's the name of the patron of Rome (SO is from Rome), plus it recalls Lucy Van Pelt (♥) and Lucy Camden (her character always makes me feel so peaceful!).
Also, Lucilla means "little light" in Latin, so she would be "little light-apple" :) (I wish I could find my old post!)
In the catholic calendar Lucilla is the saint associated to October 31, and I LOVE Halloween and its meaning in the pagan community :)

Her initials would be ALL, which I really like as well!

I'd like to hear your opinions! Also, if you'd like to make middle name suggestions, please feel free!!

I need some help with O names. Just a quick explaination, about a month ago I posted about giving my son the intials of W.O.L.F. My biggest problem in doing that is finding an O that fits. I like Owen, but it's taken by a friend. Oliver, eh. Oakley is ok, but it sounds hippy and reminds me too much of the glasses. Orsin/Orsen is nice, and it means bear cub, so it goes with the wild animal theme. I kinda like Oriris, but I have a feeling the mythology behind his name might raise a few eyebrows (the whole marrying his sister and how he conceived a child with her, etc). But, then again, from day to day, how many people would really know?

Any other suggestions for O names? I poked through babynames.com but none sounded all that thrilling. The first name will be William (no way that will be changed) and the second middle name might be Lucas. I'll worry about finding something permenant for the L when I solve the O problem :p

Thanks for any help!

What do you guys think of Kerry for a boy? I think I'm kind of starting to fall in love with it...

:o)

And what are your opinions on these names, if you please?

Girlies... )

Boyses... )

Are there any that particularly stand out to you as better first names or middle names?
[identity profile] soulsplinter8.livejournal.com
I'm sick of studying for finals. So I've decided to procrastinate for a while and come up with a fun game. Yay!

Ok Sparky, here's the deal. I'll give you a list of descriptions (of people), and you have to come up with names that you think would fit them. Sound good? Hokay. Here we go...

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet... )

Ok, I'm tired, and that's all I feel like coming up with right now. But have fun with it! :oD
