Whereas my girl name list is solid, my boy name list is constantly changing - I can't seem to find good solid names with nice meanings that stick.

Here are some names I've found or were suggested to me recently:
Asher
Zachary (Hubby loves, which spelling do you prefer?)
Dante or Durante
Taliesin
Peyton
Conley
Lamont
Cornelis
Cordell
Mason
Conrad
Wyatt
Wade
Clarence
Emmett
Sage
Paxton
Avery
Blake
Rhys
Lucan
Zadok (I *love* it, but most likely a middle name, but paired with what?)

Names that are certainly sticking around:
Dominic
Franklin

Any other suggestions?

Oh dear....

My dad works with a guy whose wife is a teacher. She has two children in her class, siblings, named "Yohighness" and "Yomajesty." I think they may have another sibling with a similar name.

On one hand I want to smack the parents, but I must try to respect their choices. Hell, "Alyssa" is probably strange sounding to them!

My husband and I aren't even pregnant yet, just thinking about it... But, since I like to be prepared... ;)

Anyway, I'm sorry it's really long, but this is just the first iteration of names we like:

So my boyfriend and I are expecting on March 23. Oh god, that is so soon. And you would think that by now we would have picked out a name that we could both agree on. But no, that would make our lives far too easy.

Anyway, here is a list of the names that we have picked out for our son. I, personally, like Beckett the best. He liked Jackson the best. And we can both sort of agree on Broderick, but neither of us are stoked about it.

There are no middle names on there, because we can't agree on that either, but I figure we should take baby steps and start with the first name and then move on to the middle.

Or if you have a suggestion that you think would go along with those names (as you see none of them are SUPER traditional names like Mark or Matt or John) then feel free to comment and let me know what you think. And if there's one that you really really like then you can comment and be 'OMG! I LOVE ETHAN GLEASON THE BEST!' And then I would appreciate you even more.

I posted a few days ago about an old friend who is having a little girl named Cerys Michele. There were a few questions, so I sent my friend an email.

She said Cerys was pronounced as "Carys." She said she wasn't aware that "Ceres" was a name, but that she'd looked into it after I mentioned it and now she thinks she's going to go with the "Carys" spelling, to avoid any confusion.

Michele is to honor the baby's paternal grandmother, so they are definitely going with the one-l spelling.

And, uh...that's it.

I started my last placement for school today and one of the classes I'm is a Senior Kindergarten, who all have surprisingly normal names...

Blake
Matthew
Chase
Hunter
Anthony
Micheal (pronounced the same as 'Michael')
Tyler

Devanne (like Devon)
Keeley (who i found out has an older brother in grade 4 who's name is Gage)
Chloe
Kasandra
Bryer (Ididn't like it at first but it's growing on me...though I like the spelling 'Breyer' better)
Isabell (yeah, two l's no e, weirdest spelling, but still pronounceable)
Breanna

So... I'm kinda starting to really like the name Sienna due to my significant other's adoration of it ;) But regardless of how pretty I think it sounds, I think it sounds too "trendy" whenever I say it out loud or in my mind.

What do you all think of this name? It's such a shame because I was beginning to become very attached to it!

Pondering

1. I've been thinking about names a lot lately because I'm working on a story, and I've come up with some I like but I'm not sure I'd use (for a child, not a character). Maybe some of them as middle names, but not first. WDYT?

Adelaide (nn Addie)
Genevieve (nn Genny, Evie, or Vieve)
Aurelia
Guinevere
Hannelore (nn Lore or Hannah)

2. Just for the heck of it, do you have any name/combo suggestions based on the names in my list?

3. What are some names that would have Kate as a nn, other than Kathryn and Katelyn (or their variants)?

What are your feelings towards the name Felix?

As a name, not with any associations. Try to comment without any biases.

I can't decide what my feelings are. In theory, I like it and the sound of it, but then something about it seems weird.

Gwendolyn

Just curious on the overall reaction of the name Gwendolyn/Gwendolen. I think it's really pretty in my head and I love the nickname Gwen, but when I say Gwendolyn out loud, it sounds like such a handful. So, reactions?

Male names that could have the nickname Joey? Already have Jonas and Josiah. Thanks :)
