What are your feelings towards the name Felix?

As a name, not with any associations. Try to comment without any biases.

I can't decide what my feelings are. In theory, I like it and the sound of it, but then something about it seems weird.

It's in my top five. I would seriously consider using it. I think it's spunky and different and would be super sexy on a grown man. And the cat association is nothing but positive to me.

I really really want to like it on someone else's kid (I'd never use it on mine) because I love the meaning, but I just can't stop thinking of that cat!

I prefer Fritz, and as a nickname. Felix just doesn't work as anything but a cat, unfortunately.

I meant to say for me not just it doesn't work. I can see it working, but cat would be what I thought of.

Lol, you just reminded me of Fritz the Cat-- definitely worth a watch. It's Felix the Cat on sex, drugs, and booze.

Unless that's what you meant by preferring Fritz. :/

Re: Fritz - I always thought that was a nn for Friedrich/Frederick, like Jo's hubby in Little Women?

unfortunately it is hard to think of just the name without the associations. no matter how much i would like a name if i knew someone with that name that was horrid i could never get over that and give the name to my child.

i dont care much for the name Felix to be honest

How can you comment without any biases? How can you explore your feelings while ignoring associations? One can try and be objective, but a little hard when you're asking for their opinion.

So my opinion--one word:
Meow!

Well, the connotations/associations with this name are quite strong...but without those, it's a fine name.

But then again, I usually like a name because of the associations (and the sound), and dislike a name for the same reasons...so yeah.

It was my top F name for a male for years, but something about it sounds kind of snobby to me, and it has since dropped out of my favorites.

I'm not really wild about it, sorry...
