I've always wanted to have the nickname for one of my daughters be Elle. So for a long time I thought I'd name her Ellis and call her Elle for short. Then I switched to liking Eleanor for the long version. But now I'm kind of back to Ellis... What does everyone think of it? Does it seem like a fake name? I feel like Eleanor might be more meaningful so I'm not really sure which one to choose now.

Lorelai has not been on the top 100 popular names since 1692! I think that makes me even happier about naming my daughter that.

Heya!

So I'm back on the internet and have picked up where I left off, writing an old novel. Here are my character names. I've organized them by category.

I work at a daycare, so I definitely get to see an array of different names on a daily basis.  Normally, I come across names like: Noah, Benjamin, Sam, Jayden, Sydney, Emma, and things like that. Yesterday, a new child was enrolled and his first name was McGarrity, pronounced Mick-Garret-E. At first, I thought it was his last name, only to be told different. I'm definitely not a fan of the name.

What does everyone else think?

Which version do you prefer?
I'm not particularly fixed on the name, but I'm curious as to what you guys think of it, and which spelling you prefer more (unless there is a spelling that I'm forgetting?).

These have been my choices for names for a while, whenever I have kids...(which will be years from now hehe):

1. Remy James (REH-mee, not REE-mee) - Remy for Gambit (X-Men, yes!) and my New Orleans heritage, James for my dad.

2. Natalie Elisabeth - Natalie as a tribute to Natalie Portman, Elisabeth because it's cute and my future husband's last name starts with S and "NES" would be awesome initials.

3. Zachary Ramón - Zachary because we have both always liked it, Ramón for his dad.

What do you guys think? :o)

I love playing the sims, but since mine seem to breed like bunnies, I always have a hard time picking names for the kids. I had used my favorites so many times in so many variations, it feels like cheating calling the next kid the same thing. So I was staring at the screen this night, wondering what to call the latest son when my cat solved my problems for me by jumping on the keyboard. What did she name him? []. Yep, []. I could have gone back and found a way to change it, but really I had nothing better at the time. I could imagine when he goes to school:

Teacher: Ok, I'm going to do roll call, so when I call your name, say 'here'. *pauses, staring at class list*
[]: *sighs* It's pronounced "brackets".
Teacher: Oh, ok... *wonders if his parents were drugs when they named him*

sib-set.
