Shane

its really been growing on me lately

do you think it is too close to my name to ever use. My name is Shanna (pn like Hannah but with an S)

i knew a really annoying set of twins names Shane and Sean. but i do like Shane as a name.

thanks. yeah my name is constantly mispronounced as Shawna or Shayna...but once I tell them its like Hannah with a S...they get it right haha.

I had a similar problem. I like the name Avery but I decided it was way too close to my name, Aubrey.

Although I'd say they're fairly similar, I don't think there would be too much confusion with the two of you in the same household, since he has the long a in his name.

I don't really like Shane at all (or Sean, as many others have mentioned, although I do like Shawn).

I'm biased, because there is a Shane I know and there is nothing good about him. The name itself is ok, but not my style. Kinda too soft sounding to me for a boys name, I guess? And yeah, it's too close to your name.

It IS close to your name, but I don't think that matters all that much in the long run. You'll still call him the wrong name when you're angry even if his name is completely different from everyone's name around him. ;)

I'd prefer Sean though.

I like Shane. I wouldn't use it personally, but it has a nice sound to it.

And Shane is better than Sean, in my opinion, but I know a few Sean/Shawn/Shauns and most of them suck.
