I work at a daycare, so I definitely get to see an array of different names on a daily basis.  Normally, I come across names like: Noah, Benjamin, Sam, Jayden, Sydney, Emma, and things like that. Yesterday, a new child was enrolled and his first name was McGarrity, pronounced Mick-Garret-E. At first, I thought it was his last name, only to be told different. I'm definitely not a fan of the name.

What does everyone else think?

I think the same thing I think about a LOT of the names here: the kids not going to keel over from the awfulness or anything, but of all possible names on this good green earth, they could not think of one. single. nicer name than THAT one?

Wow, that's pretty awful. At the very least, maybe when he's older and he has some sort of choice in the matter, he can go by Garrit or Gary or something.
