Thought this was interesting.. notice his wife's name and the 6 yr old.. (makes me wonder what they've named the newest addition)

Actor Mark Ruffalo and his wife, Sunrise Coigney, are the proud parents of a baby girl! No details have been released, though the baby was due in mid-October. The couple have two other children, Bella, two, and Keen, six.

(The meaning of the name Keen is Wailing In Mourning.  From the Irish word "Caoineadh" meaning  "I lament" )

I'm watching The L Word right now and I realized that some of the names are really cool, so here's a poll! The names are all female characters unless they are otherwise noted (and yes, Shane is a female name, that's not a mistake). If I know their formal name (since some are called by nicknames), I put it in parenthesis. Some of them are nicknames but I'm not sure of the formal version (ex: definitely Kit, and probably Tina and Bette).

I was watching Sugar and Spice last night and I kinda liked all they're names.
The six main cheerleaders:

Diane
Cleo
Fern
Kansas
Hannah
Lucy

I like all of them.
Kansas is kinda meh...ik there was a post about it and not a lot of people like it but it's not the worst I've ever heard.

Ok, hubby and I have been tossing around names for this little one long enough. She is a girl, and she will probably born late December as my babies never come on time :P She already has two sisters Kaitlyn Georgia and Alannah Jane. With that in mind I have a list of 5 potential 1st names and 3 middle names but am open to suggestions.

First names
Madison
Abby/Abigail
Chelsea
Kimberly
Delilah

Middle Names
Rose
Grace
Maree

The baby's name was originally going to be Madison Rose, but I don't know that I like how popular it is. Any hints/tips/opinions is greatly appreciated.
(Hubby has his heart set on Delilah Grace)

Not a fan of uneekness.

I had a quick scan of the community and didn't see this already posted, last night on the news there was a story about this couple who had nine children [all through sperm donor]

While 9 kids is weird enough, they have had TWO sets of quads.

Here is the article:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/National/Double-quads-Mum-conceives-10th-baby/2007/02/12/1171128844944.html

And here are the names!

Parents - Dale and Darren.

Shelby [oldest girl]

Quad set 1:
Emma
Ellie
Samuel
Joseph

Quad set 2:
Sarah
Alice
Matthew
Milly [Milly was unfortunately stillborn.]

Tiger Lilly [youngest]

AND they are apparently expecting number 10.

Woah!

I went to the store for breakfast things this morning. The cashiers name was Julilah.

It seems made up. Maybe a combo of names?

I'm almost certain there was a post on this name recently, but I couldn't find it, so I made another.

a) Do you guys prefer Lily or Lilly?
b) Is it too popular to ever consider? (I won't be having kids for over ten years, hopefully, so what I am asking is, will it be dated?)
c) What do you think of it in general?

Thanks!

So recently I've been thinking about my own name, Diana, and I realize, I actually do really like it for its own merits. Like, if it wasn't already my name, I would totally consider using it for a daughter of my own.

However, I am one of those people who does not like to re-use names, or name children after people who are already carrying the name, especially not their direct parents. So that eliminates my own and whatever Daddy's name will be (I'm obviously neither pregnant nor trying to conceive... just planning ahead)

But I was thinking I could always use Diana as a middle name. The thing is, it sounds like it'd be a difficult name to pair with, especially if it's going to be the middle name.

So what I am taking 20 million years to ask is, what first names would do well with having Diana as a middle name?

I am not due until April, plus we aren't finding out the sex of the baby.  So I don't have to worry about this for awhile, but I still wanted opinions.
My family really wants me to carry on the name Elizabeth as a middle name, it is mine and my mom's as well as my great-grandma and my grandma on the other side.  I would like to use the name Lesley after my Uncle who passed away last April, right around the time this baby is due.  Should I use both?
Part of me hopes it';s a boy so I won't have the dilemma.  If it is a boy, I would like to use my Uncle's middle name, Alexander.

Good Evening!

First let me say I'm sorry if my randomness is annoying. I really don't plan to have kids for awhile but I've been interested in the study of names for years. I figured there are enough name geeks on the list that I fit in without a baby in the oven:) So, if the name geek in you is interested, here's my (joking) theory - the more whacked out your name is, the more likely you are to committ crime. Now, I work in juvenile justice and it seems that my theory is proven on a daily basis.

** Edit** I should mention that these are kids 10-17 years old, with an average age of 15...and we're in Texas.

These are some of our recent additions:

Now.....for those of you who think you can prevent future crime by giving your kid a "normal" or "classic" name, here are some of the recent additions:

Hello! I'd really like if you'd all vote on my name list. Like many here I'm nowhere near pregnant so it's just for fun. :-)

In response to the post asking about what turns you off of a name, I said that I don't like names that are too strongly associated with a book/tv show/movie.

So, I'm just wondering...what are some names that, for you, you have a strong association with a bookd/tv show/movie. Ones that no matter how hard you try, even if it is a good name on it's on, you can't stop associating it with that book/tv show/movie.

For me, it's names like Hermione, Vernon, Petunia, etc. Most of the ones from the Potter series except, oddly enough, James and Lily.

Also...Alexander (Xander), Willow, Cordelia, Buffy (though...hopefully nobody would ever actually use that...). The rest of the names on that show, I can seperate from the series.

EDIT: I almost forgot one. Almost any other name on the show, I could seperate out, but...I don't think I'll ever be able to seperate the name Sawyer from Lost.

don't know why it did the same cut three times. sorry.

My husband and I are going to start ttc in about a year. We've been discussing names and here's what we've come up with so far. What do you think?
