[identity profile] stace25.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I am not due until April, plus we aren't finding out the sex of the baby.  So I don't have to worry about this for awhile, but I still wanted opinions.
My family really wants me to carry on the name Elizabeth as a middle name, it is mine and my mom's as well as my great-grandma and my grandma on the other side.  I would like to use the name Lesley after my Uncle who passed away last April, right around the time this baby is due.  Should I use both?
Part of me hopes it';s a boy so I won't have the dilemma.  If it is a boy, I would like to use my Uncle's middle name, Alexander.

Lesley Elizabeth sounds like a good combination to me!

Is that what you meant? You would like to use your uncle's name (Lesley) but for a daughter, right?

I, too, am involved in a chain of women with the same middle name, and I love it! My grandma is Betty Jean, my mother is Brenda Jean, my name is Heather Jean, and my current intention for my first daughter is Amelia Jean. :)

I actually think Lesley (or Leslie) is a really nice first name for a girl. It's one of those names that is sweet for a little baby, but appropriate for an adult. But I also see no reason you can't use two middle names if you want to. Why not? Doesn't hurt anything. :-)

My mum's name is Lesley (she hated it though, and still does).

I do think Lesley Elizabeth sounds like a nice combination.
And Alexander is a great middle name.

Are you planning on having more than one?

I would use Elizabeth alone as the middle name for this girl, and then use Lesley as a middle name for either a boy or a girl for the next. :-) If you plan on having more, of course. No need to give away both of your special names to the first child.

Bah, I just remembered you said Alexander for the boy. But still, for the second child Lesley for a girl, Alexander for a boy.

I say use the one you like the most and that means the most to you. Lesley/Leslie and Elizabeth are both really cute names, so I think either would work, depending on the first name you pick. I also don't mind the two middle names thing, so if you don't want to pick, I'd say use both.

What first name do you have picked out? What about Elizabeth Lesley as a first/middle combo?

I like Alexander a lot, both as a first and a middle, depending on the name you have picked to go with it.
