I was talking to my niece tonight. She told me she was at the park the other day and apparently a mother who my niece said looked about 27, and who was wearing a shirt with a skull and cross bones design on it, was there with her two sons who my niece said looked about 7 & 9. Their names: Mischief and Justice. =/

Personally I don't mind Justice, whether spelled that way or 'Justus'. But Mischief on it's own I think is a poor choice, and paired with Justice is just horrid. To me, you may as well name your kids "good and bad".

Opinions?

These are some of the more, well, unusual names I have encountered in my lifetime. All of these are real.

Zelda
English
Irish
sibset: Henrik, Henratta, and Henrika (dad's name was Henry)
Terrika (pronounced like 'Erica' with a T)
Shazznavia
Aquanetta
Shitonya (I wish I was kidding)
Uranus
Madiha
Stage (This was his family's surname. He had no first name. It was a tradition that all the men in his family would have no first name. Yeah, I don't get it either)
Heritage
Bryan Eleven (another weird family tradition that involved giving kids numbers for middle names)
Dallas (girl)
Je'Karen
Crayola
Keath (girl)
Toki (pronounced two-kee)
Princess
Sibset: Oyenoye (Oh yay no yay), Ehiman (traditional from African continent, just unusual to hear them in US)

I was actually thoroughly impressed with my city this week!

Calista Ann (Zachary)
Lena Emese
Dexter Charles Kevin
Alyssa Danielle
Koren Theresa
Rory Emerson (m)
Justin Gerald Robert (Ethan)
Hayden Robert (Siena)
Kevin James
Eva Rose Charlotte
Marynia Uma
Lauren Elizabeth Jennifer (Ella, Colin)
Twins: Madeline Adele, Jonathan Matthew (Avery Rose)

I dislike Koren and Marynia, but other than that they're pretty good! I especially love the sibset of Lauren, Ella and Colin.

I know someone named Emese, but I'm wondering how it's being pronounced in this case ... how would you say it? Or Lena, for that matter.

Recently I posted a sib-set that I didn't mind:
John
Justin
Julianna

Well, I now mind it... because I found out that it is not Julianna, but rather Jeweliana.

I went on a road trip across England yesterday (which is much less impressive than it sounds, because England is tiny) which meant travelling for a few hours on motorways, which meant I got to go Stobby spotting.

I don’t know if this will be familiar to those of you from outside the UK, but here in Britain there’s a haulage company called Eddie Stobart (affectionately referred to as Stobby). You see a lot of Eddie Stobart lorries if you spend any time on a motorway. And the cool thing about Eddie Stobart Lorries is that they all have girls names painted on the front. So, these are the lorries I met:

Genevieve Rose
Leah Faith
Georgina Nicole
Natalie Ann
Elouise May
Emmeline Sophia
Charlotte Leanne
Annabelle Sian
Stacie Kate
Tamzin Jane
Rosalie Mia
Layla Marie

Anyone else played this particular game on road trips?

After looking into the votes on my baby names list in an early post and weighing the most popular names with my personal preferences, I've picked out the ones I'm most likely to use in the future.

*it's probably useful to note that I want 6 kids, so although the probability of having this exact ratio is quite slim... here it is anyway*

Elijah Tobias (Eli)
Jack Asher
Eleanor Jane (Ellie or Ella)
Vivienne Cecelia (Vivi)
Josephine Victoria (Josey)
Lillian Audrey (Lily)

Again, I'm still open to suggestions/alternative names, though I'd like to keep all of the first names as firsts.

I also don't mind two middle names, I'm just having a difficult time trying to come up with ones that flow well--so suggestions in that department are ESPECIALLY welcome.

Please tell me which you prefer. Sage would be the middle name.

Thank you! :)

Here's my names list. Most of them are pretty weird and I was wondering what all of you thought of them.

Lauren Madeline

Kara Monique Winter (Jayda) - Winter is the mom's maiden name, unsure of if it's two last names or two middle names.
Alexis Mary (A.J.)

If you're having a question about a pronunciation, I'd be happy to answer it.

Also...we don't really have a nickname system here. People are called what they're called, nothing is shortened. That's why some names are really short...and more than one middle name is common practice here, too! (I've said it before...but I'll just say it again for the ones who don't know).

So, this: http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9645689 is my name list. Now, I am years and years and relationships away from ever having kids, so these are obviously just names that I like, not names that have actually been decided on with a husband or anything. I'd like it if people voted, because I like to know what people think, but this is actually a question post too.

So far (and it really did surprise me), three of the girl names have zero thumbs up:

Saxon Cassandra
Jory Evangeline
Penny Danneel

Penny Danneel I get, because I just kind of threw those two names together because I like Danneel and thought that it went with Penny the best, but are those names really that bad? As well, Juno Tuesday is a bit more of a guilty pleasure, celebrity baby name. I do really love both of the names, particularly Juno, and I just figured if I ever actually named a kid Juno, nobody would bat an eye at a crazy middle name.

So, let me know what you think, if you want. These are the names that I like right now, and yes, they are in order of how much I like them. Any other suggestions, like switching middle names or something? Or just names that you think that I would like. Thanks!

WDYT?

When my SO's sister Shauna died my SO decided to adopt her daughter Elle (pronounced Ellie). So now we are the pround parents of Ashton Thomas Rhys Abbott and Elle Abigail Abbott. Elle is 2 in November so it isn't really an option to change her whole name but I wondered what you think about changing her middle/ giving her another middle name (as it is really important to my SO that his children have two middles)? We've also considered changing the spelling from Elle to Ellie to make things a little easier for her later (considering she doesn't know how to write her name yet) and it wouldn't affect her yet. WDTY? Should we leave her name as it is? If not, any ideas of what we could change her name to? I was thinking of Ellie Shauna Abigail, but i'm not sure.

EDIT: We've decided to definately leave her the spelling as Elle. We've also decided to keep Abigail as a nickname.  Although we are a little confused as to wether or not we should add her mothers name as a nickname to honour her mother as Shauna died before Elle had the chance to really get to know her mother and has no real connection to her mother and we think it may be a nice tribute. On the other hand, we're unsure as to wether or not we should just leave the name how Shauna left it. Your thoughts really are appreciated.

Question 1 )

I am mere weeks from having the baby (due Oct. 2nd) and still can't settle on a name. Did all of you have your names picked out and set in stone before the baby came? Because I feel slightly guilty by not being sure at this point. Maybe ya'll can help me one more time? I would really appreciate it! Oh, and I am having a boy! I am up for suggestions as well!

Names I like:
*Noah
Rylan
Conrad
Curtis
Ethan
Rhys
Elijah
Elliot
