These are some of the more, well, unusual names I have encountered in my lifetime. All of these are real.

Zelda
English
Irish
sibset: Henrik, Henratta, and Henrika (dad's name was Henry)
Terrika (pronounced like 'Erica' with a T)
Shazznavia
Aquanetta
Shitonya (I wish I was kidding)
Uranus
Madiha
Stage (This was his family's surname. He had no first name. It was a tradition that all the men in his family would have no first name. Yeah, I don't get it either)
Heritage
Bryan Eleven (another weird family tradition that involved giving kids numbers for middle names)
Dallas (girl)
Je'Karen
Crayola
Keath (girl)
Toki (pronounced two-kee)
Princess
Sibset: Oyenoye (Oh yay no yay), Ehiman (traditional from African continent, just unusual to hear them in US)

I knew a Madia once! She was from Somalia...it was pronounced just like Madiha.

Irish...we call my friend Iris that for fun sometimes.

lol, Shitonya! That's great.

I knew a girl named Euraina (went exclusively by Rainey) and she hated her name because of how close it sounded to Uranus (your anus).

I just met a babe named Terrika the other day. I thought it was Terrible.

My name means princess, but to name your child Princess is just ridiculous. I have met two Princesses in my life time. One of them had a sister name Peaches. Horrible.

The only name on this list that I like is Zelda, and I would never use it because of its strong connection to the video game.

Ireland I like, Irish is a bit different. I don't really think that Dallas is on the same level as most of these other names; that seems really normal. Even on a girl. The only person I've ever met named Dallas was a girl.

omg Zelda is one of my favorite names. Like Zelda Fitzgerald. I'm from the generation of Nintendo though, so I know people would always just think of the game :[

Is it legal to not give a child a first name?

Dallas doesn't seem weird to me, I've known a few girls named Dallas and a few boys too.

I read a story once with a character named Irish..so I like it because of that. =]

Reading such absurd names = funny. Trying to read them while on medication that causes drowsiness and giddiness = hilarious!

Aquanetta, Shazznavia, Terrika, Uranus, Stage, Je'Karen, Crayola, Keath, Toki, they are all bad enough but the one that really takes the cake...

Shitonya? =O I bet it's pron. "Shh-tone-ya" or "Shh-tawn-ya", but man oh man, you know what people will think with that spelling. My head is still spinning over that one. Yikes!

I'm all for unique names but these are just out and out ridiculous. Every time I hear of people giving their kids names like this, I feel more and more better about the name I gave my baby, and all my 'kre8iv' names I've made up.
