Passions

So, for nearly six years I've been addicted to this amazingly horrific soap opera called Passions (the one with the witches and Not!Gay!Chad, if you watch The Soup).  I was thinking about it the other day and how much I hate it and wish it weren't my crack when I realized that I actually like a lot of the names on the show.  So, I compiled a list of all of the major members of the chief families and italicized the names that I like.  A number of people have the same name because these people, for some reason, take issue with giving their children original names.

Names... )

I love really unique names, but I'm going to try and be creative out of my spectrum, and try and be creative with common names...(I don't know if that makes any sense but here I go) Oh, and keep in mind, that any of these combinations can be questioned. there not set in stone anywhere... haha

I'm nowhere near expecting but do like to think about names if I were so I'd love to have your opinions on some of these names.

I'd really like to use a family name because I am named after my great grandmother Laura Marie who was named after her mother Laura Ella.

Ella Claire
Caroline Ella Grace
Ella Grace
Mary Elizabeth
Margaret Ella (Molly or Meg)

or

Katherine Suzanne or Catherine Suzanne with Kate or Cate as a nickname.

*This would be using both of our mothers names. (Kathy & Susan).

- I like Catherine and Cate or Catie. But I think Katherine Suzanne looks nicer. What do you think? Any other ideas on combination of names that would use both Katherine and Susan.

For boys I like the following names

John
James
William
Jack

Once again they are all family names

My brother & grandfather are John and my grandmothers brother was John William "Jack".

My father is William and my other grandfather was James.

I'm having a hard time combining these names.

I really wish John James or James John sounded better but it really doesn't

James William or John William is nice.

I don't know any suggestions?

Seeley for a boy. Or Booth for that matter.

WDYT?

Van & Beck.

A friend of a friend named their son Vanian[van-yen](last name of a favorite musician) and since i've heard it i've loved it. But i'm not a name stealer. With something that unique it'd be too obvious. They don't use Van as a nickname though which is one of the reasons i liked it.

I love Van & Beck as nicknames but am having a hard time coming up with decent full names.

So far i only have Vance & Beckett.

Any ideas?

uhm...

Nikkoel (prn. like Nicole), and the only reason i know it was spelled this way is because she had a big gold heart shaped pendant on her necklace with it engraved on there. eugh.

I've noticed that a lot of people seem to say "she looks like a Katie" or "she looks like a Jacqueline" so I thought it would be fun to see the different names we'd all come up with for the same batch of kids. Try not to look at the comments until after you post!

NOTE: these are random kids I got off google, so I have no idea what their real names are!

My answers are in the comments... )

Hi! I'm Lauren. I hope everyone is doing well. I just joined this community and I wanted to tell a wee bit about myself. I LOVE to read, write and anything to do with horses and dolphins. I also LOVE takin' care of the wee ones. I’ve even volunteered in a daycare center from 2002-2005. I LOVED every minute of it! I want to adopt in a few years. I did comment on an entry, but I'll let everyone know what my favorite names for girls and boys are in another entry.
I hope to hear from everyone soon! And if anyone has MNS Messenger, feel free to add me to your contact list as well as friend me on LJ if we have a lot in common. Some of my other favorite things are Touched by an Angel, Disney movies, ER and 7th Heaven.
God loves you
Lauren

i was watching "seven brides for seven brothers" the other day.
there was a sibling set of 7 boys. they mentioned that they were easy to remember because they started with A, B, C, D, E, F & G. one character said that his mother wanted biblical names, but couldn't find any that started with F. :]

what do you think?

caleb

I fell in love recently with Ciara, even though it looked like a funky spelling of Sara when I first saw it, and I hear most people misprounce it as Sierra when it's actually "KEER-a". What do you guys think of it? Would naming a daughter this be worth it if she needs to keep saying, "No. We pronouce it the Irish way, the right way, and it's 'KEER-a'." Ok, maybe she wouldn't be so snobby, but you know what I mean. XD

If I did use it, I think the girl's name would be Ciara Emily Nadine. Do you guys think it works? Nadine is my mom's middle name (cos I don't like her first--sorry Ma), and the other two just because I like em and want the child to have a full name as theirs and the second middle name as a bonus. So if she never wants to acknowledge she was named after her grandmother, she can go with Ciara Emily for the rest of her life. What do you guys think?

Worst name(s) you've ever heard? Not because it's popular or overused or trendy, but just because it's a horrible name.

Sydney

I like the name Sydney for both men and women. I have known several people in either gender with the name (usually the "yd" spelling) and I just rather like it! :)

I like both Sidney and Sydney , although, not sure which I prefer.

I think Violet would be a cute potential middle name.

Sydney Violet, eh? :D

or

Sidney Ryan
Sydney Astrid
Sydney Freyja
etc..

:D

One of my co-workers is pregnant. If its a girl she gets to name it and if its a boy her husband gets to pick the name. She's stuck trying to find a girl's name and is hoping its a boy:)

So to help I thought I cast the net in this community. Mom and dad are late 20s-early 30s. Mom is a probation officer, dad is in loans/real estate. They are African American but she wants a normal name (no Schnikwa or Princess). Mom is Taye, Dad is Larry (don't know if its short for anything). Last name is Spikes.

These are the names she is considering:

Kylie
Addison
Ellie Nicole

Of the three, I like Addison best, but one of our coworkers just named her daughter Addison Lauren.

So, bring your best!

PS...Mom is real big on the resume/business card test...and she has already refused the name Sharpe.
