On friday it was my Eighteenth birthday. Anyway, sometime on Saturday morning, I was drifting off to sleep, still a little bit tipsy from the evening's celebrations, which explains what I am about to write.

For some reason I started to think about names, and somehow I managed to come up with Ophelia Oyster for a girl, and Ogene for a boy.

Just thought it was funny remembering it.

Also, went to my Mum's friend's fiftieth on the Saturday, and there was a little boy called Judah there. It just sounded weird to me when people were calling to him. What does everybody else think of it?

As a community focused on names, we often talk about or refer to names that are trendy in the real world. Often, people complain that trendy names lose their appeal once they've become trendy.

I've noticed names becoming trendy here at baby names, too. Names that are not necessarily u-neek, but as the dictionary definition states, of, in, or pertaining to the latest trend or style. Which, in this community, seems to be leaning much more toward "different/old-fashioned".

What are some names you've found to be increasingly popular and thus, trendy in this community?

Recently, I've noticed almost everyone has either Oliver or Eleanor on their list somewhere. Before Oliver and Eleanor, it was Asher, Elliott and Audrey. I also see Henry, Harper and Eloise entering more and more people's lists.

My niece, Marie, is 8 years old. She was telling me last night about her best girlfriends: Allie, Britney, Brandy, Casey and Logan. It amazed me to think of how uncommon any of these names would be when I was growing up! My classrooms were filled with Jennifers and Nicoles. I think her little girl group has amazingly cute names.

On another note, I recently learned of a mother named Tia who has a daughter named Mia. *gag*

These are all people I know. Can you match their first names with their middle names? Names behind the cut.

Hello again. I'm still sorting out names but I was thinking about the middle name thing and have a question. If I give my daughter two middle names how does that work? Like when they ask for a middle initial which one would she give?

My brother has a new snake that needs a name. I don't know what kind it is, but it is white with orange and yellow coloring. He wants a name that could fit either gender; it's a snake, so nothing too masculine or feminine.

Any ideas??

As a side note, his other snake is named Jackson.

Game time!

Hey again.

I found a short story that I wrote last year, and one of the female characters had the nickname Lennie (I never gave her a full name).

What girl's name could Lennie be short for, aside from Elena?

I'm new.

I'm new and not having babies any time soon but this is fun.

Potential Future Female Child Names:

Marni Robin _______
Alia Grace _______
Audrey Vanessa _______
Lilly Bianca _______
Vera Piper _______

Laurel Rebekah ________
Miriam Irena (pronounced Ih-ray-na)________

I also really like the name Lucy Anne, but considering my dog was named Lucy, I could never name a kid after a dog, even if she wass the best dog in the world.

Potential Future Male Child Names:

Ryan Andrew _______
Jesse Morgan _______
Noah William _______
Ethan Daniel ________
Rory Luke ________

I like a lot of traditional/Jewish sounding names but apparently in Jewish tradition you're not supposed to name kids after living relatives and my relatives (and those of the person whose babies I'd have) took all the good boys' names.
