One of the hospitals in my town has a billboard with a scrolling led of all the names of the babies for the month.. I always enjoy reading them as I drive by.. (and have been known on occasion to stop in the parking lot and just read them all..)  There are always several unique names but yesterday I noticed one that was unique enough to share..

Camara

Now, I'm not sure if they are pronouncing it like Camaro with an "a" at the end (kuh-MARE-uh)
or if it is actually pronounced ilke Camera (KAM-er-uh)..   or maybe similar to Kimora (kam-ARE-uh)..

wdyt?

Just wondering what everyone thought of the name:

Rowan

on a girl? It's my favorite name at the moment but I was talking to my Mom about it and she thought it was ugly and seemed more masculine than feminine... I know it's unisex but I think it sounds fine on a girl...

Any middle name suggestions? I'm partial to Rowan Mary but I might also want to use Mary as a first name instead for another kid.
Thanks!

So, I don't know if anyone else has a Facebook, but there's an application on Facebook called "Make a Baby" that allows you to make a "baby" either by yourself or with one of your Facebook friends. You get to dress and name the babies yourselves, and I thought I would share the names of all of my Facebook babies (I have twenty, LOL). Just please take note that many of these names were tongue-in-cheek.

Cut for space... )

I’m not expecting—or expecting to be expecting any time in the next, oh, decade—but I’ve always loved baby names and I'm feeling a little under the weather today (falling down a flight of stairs will do that to you!), so time is on my side and I thought I’d run my favorites by you all.

For girls, I love the names Margaret/Maggie, Gwendolyn/Gwen, Liza, Lydia/Lydie, Linnea (lovely, but wouldn't use), Sylvia/Sylvie (probably wouldn't use), Adell, Eva, Matilda, Clara, Cecilia, Eugenia, Rose, Amelia, Kirsten/Kit, Violet, Jane, Miriam, Elsa, Lane, and Bridget. For boys, I like Jesse, William/Will, Samuel/Sam, Max, James (or Jameson, maybe?), Asa or Ezra (probably wouldn't use either, but I like 'em), Isaac, Caleb, Adrian, and Nathan/Nate/Nat. My absolute favorites are Maggie (Margaret), Liza, Eva, Jesse, and Sam (Samuel). My fiancé is very fond of Dean, Dylan (a tribute to Bob, of course), Samuel/Sam, and William/Will for boys, and Eleanor/Ella, Claire, and Margaret/Maggie for girls. I haven't thought about middle names at all, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to post 'em.

Edited to add: For the record, our names are Sarah and Clarke (which rules out using "Clara," because it'd look like we were trying too hard to blend our names into our kids and I sort of hate that!)

So I'm due to give birth anytime now. (My due date is actually tomorrow.) We are planning on naming our baby girl Imogen. First question, what is your honest opinion of that name. Not that it would change our minds, considering plenty of people have voiced their opinion that they do not like the name, but I'm still interested in hearing your opinions of the name. (Be honest, I promise not to cry if you say you hate it for whatever reason.)

Another question, we still haven't picked out a middle name. What do you think goes well with Imogen and a last name that starts with Mc?

I'm thinking about Claire/Clare because my grandfather's name is Clarence and I'd like her to be named after a family member. I'm not positive if I like it, and I'm also not sure which spelling to go with if I do end up choosing that.

So that's 3 questions:

1. What do you think of the name Imogen?
2. What middle name would go well with that?
3. If I were to choose Claire/Clare, which spelling is better?

Thanks for your opinions!

Oliver

I've seen this name thrown around quite a bit in this community, but can't actually recall a secular post on the name.

So, what do you guys think?
Is it getting too trendy? Does it remind you of cats?

Brothers Seamus and Patrick (maybe 4 and 2ish and there was a baby bro whose name I didn't get).

A Gianna. A Katie.

Brothers Tanner and Dylan (mabye 3 and 5 respectively).

I personally like all these names especially Gianna right now.

the one name though that I could not, can not, abide by? the little girl (about 4 or 5, blond pigtails swinging away) named Buchanan.

It's probably a family name or something but I just do not like it.

other opinions?
