Oct. 16th, 2007 04:54 pmI’m not expecting—or expecting to be expecting any time in the next, oh, decade—but I’ve always loved baby names and I'm feeling a little under the weather today (falling down a flight of stairs will do that to you!), so time is on my side and I thought I’d run my favorites by you all.
For girls, I love the names Margaret/Maggie, Gwendolyn/Gwen, Liza, Lydia/Lydie, Linnea (lovely, but wouldn't use), Sylvia/Sylvie (probably wouldn't use), Adell, Eva, Matilda, Clara, Cecilia, Eugenia, Rose, Amelia, Kirsten/Kit, Violet, Jane, Miriam, Elsa, Lane, and Bridget. For boys, I like Jesse, William/Will, Samuel/Sam, Max, James (or Jameson, maybe?), Asa or Ezra (probably wouldn't use either, but I like 'em), Isaac, Caleb, Adrian, and Nathan/Nate/Nat. My absolute favorites are Maggie (Margaret), Liza, Eva, Jesse, and Sam (Samuel). My fiancé is very fond of Dean, Dylan (a tribute to Bob, of course), Samuel/Sam, and William/Will for boys, and Eleanor/Ella, Claire, and Margaret/Maggie for girls. I haven't thought about middle names at all, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to post 'em.
Edited to add: For the record, our names are Sarah and Clarke(which rules out using "Clara," because it'd look like we were trying too hard to blend our names into our kids and I sort of hate that!)
