I'm not completely sure if this type of thing is allowed here but:

how do you pronounce the name Bodhi?
Some celebrity named their kid that (I don't remember who) and it's got me wondering.

Does anyone know the correct pronunciation?

I did not combine any different spellings or nicknames or anything, what you gave me is what went on the list. If you put a full name and then a nickname next to it, I only took into account the full name. If you put two different spellings I picked one and put it in. If you gave me middle names I ignored them. I really hope I got everybody! Let me know what trends you notice, and if anybody REALLY wants to know all the names that got a single vote, let me know!

Here is what we got! its long. )

What do you think of Tucker, nickname Tuck on a boy?

I've always liked the name Huck, but I'm not sure that it could be used without getting the inevitable, "Your mom likes Mark Twain, doesn't she?" (which, by the way, couldn't be farther from the truth).  I like Tuck slightly less, but I still do really like it, and I think Tucker could work well on an adult.  I'd probably use it with the middle name Atticus.

Here is a funny little story. I was talking to my mom about the desire these days to name your child something unique that will set your child apart. She said that when she was growing up, it just wasn't so. (This was 50s-60s) She said that there were tons of Mikes and Kathys, but it really didn't matter. Maybe it was a challenge for the teacher, but it was actually how kids formed friendships sometimes - like all the Susans would be friends. My mom said that she always felt left out because no one else had her name. Her closest friend in school was the only other girl with an unusual name.
