What are your thoughts on Mathilda Mirah?

LOVE Mathilda (or Mathilde), it's definitely in my top five favourite names. Not sure about the combo, though.

I told my husband we could use Mirah as a middle name if we have a daughter (not TTC for a few months yet) because our neice was just named Maya and I think Mirah and Maya are too similar for close cousins.
But it's so hard to come up with a name to go with Mirah. Plus my husband likes odd and old names like Ilsa, Elsie, Gertrude, Polly etc.
I was using Nymbler and Mathilda came up and we both like it but I'm not sure if it goes with Mirah either.
I also like Hannah Mirah but he wasn't too sure about that one.

I like Mathilda, but maybe Mirah is a bit redundant, as it's almost made of the same letters. If you're reading it Mirah, though, it sounds good together.

I like Mathilda and Mathilde but I think the latter is a bit much to saddle with an English speaking girl. Mirah is in there because it's my husband's favourite and I promised him we could use it for a middle. I'm having a devil of a time finding a first name that goes with it that we can both agree on. To top it off he likes really old fashioned (as opposed to classic) names like Elsie, Ilsa, Gertrude, Polly etc

Not a fan of any of your husband's choices!! I actually prefer Mathilde but as you said I think it would be easier for an English speaking girl to deal with Mathilda.

I have no problem with the sound of the two names together I just don't like the name that much. I guess we don't use our middle names that much, anyway :)

Could you use something like Elisabeth Mirah, and then call her Elsie? It's unusual, but at least she won't be the 8728495720th Beth in the world.

i cant say its a name that ever crossed my mind before a couple of weeks ago when i met a little girl named tillie and announced to me that her full name was mathilda. i instantly thought it was adorable, and it helped that my mother used to call me tillie growing up. completely random.

i dont know about mathilda mirah, theres something about it that doesnt sit right with me.

I don't like it when the first and middle names end with "ah". I think the names are just too close. I love them separately though!

Love Mathilda, but when I say it with Mirah fast, the double M sound slurs together and it sounds kind of like "MatTHIL da meer. ah.
