...I can't decide if I like it, or if my attraction to it is based purely on the song of the same name, which I love.

Thoughts?

I've got 12 names for each gender. Yeah, I know. It's a ton. =/
Boys )

Girls )

The ones without middle names, I'm a bit stuck on. Any help/opinions would be appreciated.

One thing I haven't seen posted in this community is Whats your Name?
So I'm curious. What is your name? What does it mean and how do you feel about it? And also, if you feel comfertable answering, if you could change it what would it be?

Netta: do you know what it means? I've come across a whole lot of different meanings:
"a diminutive of Antoinette, Henrietta etc"
"little one" (that makes sense, as the suffix -ette means small or diminutive)
"duckling" (Greek) (netta is a genus of diving duck, according to Wikipedia.)
"a net" (Teutonic)
"a shrub" (Hawaiian)
"priceless, perfect" (Old English)

I think half of them are just made up, or very, very far stretches of the imagination.
Any meanings for Netta you can add?

I need your opinion between two middle names. My husband and I were going back and forth about the middle name for our baby. We decided what we like better but his side of the family keeps saying it like we picked a horrible name so I'd like an unbiased opinion.

Lily Ann ...last name sounds like Talen with a long a

or Lily Catherine

Catherine is my first name and Ann is the second so that's where they came from. I like the first because my Grandmother's name was Lilian. She HATED that name but it's similiar but different. My MIL's comment was that Ann is like Ruth and basically she hates it. What do you all think?

Thanks!

How do you spell this name?
I spell it Claire. And because it happens to be my name, I feel like Clair/Clare look somewhat empty.
But the other day I served a girl at work, and she had a name badge on because she worked at the pizza place down the street. She looked at MY name badge and said "Oh, we have the same name!".
I looked at hers, and it was spelt Klayre.
Huuuuhh!?!?
Maybe it's because i'm partial to my own name...but wow.

What names did you parents consider for you.

If I wasn't named Shanna Marie I was either going to be Carissa Danielle or Brynn Elizabeth

What do you think?

Hmm..

Some unusual names I've come across recently.

Leterance
Guyzer
Diandra
Enow
Koree
Ndeye
Mulki
Muluken
Zvirimumwoyo
Ayana
Shakoora
Wafa

If anyone knows any of the origins or meanings of any of these, I'd love to know! I know some of them are clearly ethnic, but the first two guys are from the Southern US.
