(no subject)
Jul. 13th, 2007 11:46 amNetta: do you know what it means? I've come across a whole lot of different meanings:
"a diminutive of Antoinette, Henrietta etc"
"little one" (that makes sense, as the suffix -ette means small or diminutive)
"duckling" (Greek) (netta is a genus of diving duck, according to Wikipedia.)
"a net" (Teutonic)
"a shrub" (Hawaiian)
"priceless, perfect" (Old English)
I think half of them are just made up, or very, very far stretches of the imagination.
Any meanings for Netta you can add?
