Lillimaer. I can only guess this would be pronounced "Lily-mare" It's what my friend wanted to name his first child if it was a girl. Fortunately for the child, they had a boy (who they named Cayden, which is trendy and I don't really like it... but yeah)

I think Lillimaer would make a great name for a fantasy book character, but not for a real person who has to go through real life.

Also, what do you think of spelling Gwendolyn as Gwendolynne? I gave the latter name to a sim once, because I like to give them ridiculous and kr8tvye names. I happen to like that spelling (and the name) a lot, I think it adds an extra touch of... something, but it's also extra letters that aren't needed. If I ever name a child this (which is likely to happen someday at the moment) I'd probably go with the first spelling, just because it's easier and to save the kid some grief.

I was going through my old list of names I once liked and came across Isla.

I'm starting to love it all over again, but what's your opinion?

How do you pronounce the name Penelope?
In italian it's PE-neh-lo-pE. 'E' being the sound of the last syllable in Hel-en, minus the 'n'.
And what are possible nn's to you, other than Penny?

I'm not a fan of using children names as a poster board for advertising what hobbies or heroes the parents are into. Example: Lennon, Lennox, Hendrix, Vonnegut, Cash, etc.

It bugs me especially when the excuse parents give is "I'm a huge fan of [insert name]" or "They changed my life!" If they impacted you so much then change YOUR name. If you name your child some famous last name you'll probably just increase the odds of your child hating that famous person since that's what people would first think of and ask questions about. Imagine having to explain all the time why your parents named you Insert Famous Name, and other related questions.*

I know there are always exceptions. I'm sure there are/will be children who love their famous names, or that there are parents who didn't name their child some famous name for fandom's sake. It's when they do use their kid to advertise the parent's favorite musician, author, etc that I roll my eyes and think "Oh well."

Anyone agree?

*I left this as a comment to someone's post but thought to share it since it is a strong opinion I have on names

My sister-in-law is expecting and, if they have a girl, she's wanting to name her either Margaret, Mabel, or Ada.

I really like all of these a lot, but I think I'm leaning towards Margaret just because of all the great nicknames (I would probably call her Greta, Maisie, or Molly).

Which do you prefer and why?

I have been watching Army Wives and am in love with Roxy's youngest boy Finn. He is adorable and I love his name. I have never heard it before.

What do you all think of it?
