Margaret, Ada, or Mabel?
Jul. 12th, 2007 07:29 pmMy sister-in-law is expecting and, if they have a girl, she's wanting to name her either Margaret, Mabel, or Ada.
I really like all of these a lot, but I think I'm leaning towards Margaret just because of all the great nicknames (I would probably call her Greta, Maisie, or Molly).
Which do you prefer and why?

Date: 2007-07-13 12:59 am (UTC)mabel is okay, but it seems so old fashioned. that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's definitely one that i picture being on someone who's 70 and not 7.

But really, both names are terrific. Mabel is the epitome, at least in my opinion, of frumpy old lady names.
