Hey everyone.  I completely redid my favorite name list. I would love to hear what you think about them.

Sorry if it is a long list. I like a lot of names lol

i'm finding out that i really like letter nicknames. i don't know how else to explain it, haha. you know, like LC (yes, i like laguna beach okay :P), KJ, CJ, MJ, etc. but it's really hard to try and find first name/middle names that go well together AND can be abbreviated. got any?

also, i'm thinking they don't have to fit in exactly. i have a friend named drisana sophie and she goes by DJ.

If I remember correctly someone posted not too long ago about meeting a pair of twins named Melinda and Melissa. I now have proof that those names are a little too similar.

My name is Melinda and I just happened to glance at an appointment card where they listed my name as Melissa. Poor little girls.

On a sidenote, does anyone else with a fairly unique name have this problem? It doesn't happen too much, but I've also had instances of being called Melanie (by a teacher no less).

I was just watching A Baby Story(or Bringing home baby.. or something) and the middle aged lactation consultant's name was Leslye.

I had a dream that I had a baby and his name was John Otis.  What do you think of it?

I honestly have no idea where in my subconcious that name came from.  I hate both names and find John absolutely boring.  Otis reminds me of Milo and Otis.

I need ideas on surnames used as first names for boys.

We have Grayson and Gage on the list so far.

My names

I've posted before, but this is my up-to-date list!
My name's Kate, and my boyfriends name is Gary.
We can't agree on many names, but at the moment we don't need to!

These are my favourites though:
Girls
Imogen Elizabeth - Gary hates the name Imogen so it won't used even though it's my favourite, and Elizabeth is a family name.
Sara Elizabeth - A name we both like! *Shock*
Alex Daire - I don't like Alex on a boy, and I don't like Alexandra or any version of! Daire I found on here and like it.
Alanna Rose - Just pretty! Alanna is my favourite character out of a book :)
Rosalind/Rosalie - very recent favourite names! I think they're so pretty, but I'm not sure if I'd ever use them.

Boys
Finn - All time favourite. Gary hates it!
Jack - Another name we both like, even if it is really popular!
Dylan - Ditto Finn :(
Kester - I really likr this, like Christopher, but less popular. At least I've never met a Kester!
Julian - Love love love. Gary says its a 'gay mans' name.
Ben - I WILL use this name. Its always been a favourite ever since I was little!
Nathan/Nathanial/Nathaniel - I'm leaning more towards Nathan than the longer versions. He'd be called Nate anyway!
Christian - I like this name, don't know if I'd ever use it though
Edward - Just so long he was NEVER called Ted...
Leander - I know without even suggesting it Gary will hate it, but I like it!
Rory - Again, don't know if I'd use it, but I like it!
Tristan - This appeals to King Arthur fan in me, but I don't think I'd ever actually use it!

I haven't matched up any middle names for boys, so any sugestions for them or the girls are welcome!

Also how exactly do you pronounce Alanna? Is it Alan-a [kind of], or with a longer A-laarn-na sound? I'm rubbish at this sounding out words!

Thoughts, comments?

What do you guys think about the name Giselle?

I have always thought that it was just ok....but lately I have been thinking that it is a rather pretty name.

I would love to hear your opinions on it.

Thanks!

Oh and as always...I'm stumped on a middle name. So if one pops into your head...let me know

i've decided that if i have a daughter, she will be named andromeda jocelyn. i think it's gorgeous, and it gives a lot of nickname possibilities, andi being my favourite. i've always loved the name andromeda, i have a good friend named andy, and the name jocelyn comes from another dear friend of mine. what do you guys think?  (my mom thinks i'm crazy :] )

On Temptation at the moment (a game show here in aus) there is a contestant called Peddair. The host of the show has been pronouncing it as pay-dar.

I have never seen this name before, and I don't see why it is pronounced that way either... kind of unusual. What do you think?

Kicked up my heels tonight and watched The Little Mermaid and thought, Ariel. That's a neat name I never really considered.

What do you guys think of it, and Ariel or Arielle?
How would you pronounce it? AH-ree-el, AR-ee-el... etc.?
