Hello, my name is Meghan Marie and I have posted a list almost exactly the same to this before, but back in April. I'm only fifteen so it's not like I'm going to have children anytime soon, but I still want people's opinions on possible names!

Girls (in order from favourite to least favourite):

1. Lily Alice - I've always loved this name! When I told my mum recently, she told me that it's almost exactly the same as my great-grandmother's name--Lilian Alice Braithwaite. I knew her name was Lilian, but had no clue that her middle name was Alice! She's always been intriguing to me seeing as she was from England and I'm a massive Anglophile. I never did get to meet her, though--she died before I was born.
2. Elizabeth Maren - Elizabeth has been my favourite name the longest, probably. I just heard the name Maren in May and fell in love with it immediately.
3. Merry Abigail - I've loved both of these names for years now. This past school year I had an English teacher that I became really close with whose name is Merry, so it just sort of fits.
4. Catherine Emily - Based off of Emily Bronte and her character Catherine Earnshaw from Wuthering Heights.
5. Madeleine Hermione - Madeleine was my name in French class last year and my favourite Harry Potter character is Hermione.

Boys (in order from favourite to least favourite):

1. Harry James - Even if it is based off of Harry Potter, I love both those names.
2. Gordon Ian - There's really no reason why I love this name, I just do.
3. Neville Zachary - Same as above.
4. Daniel Jacob - Same as above.

One of the things I read in this community is that, while someone likes the name, it's too trendy or common. My question is, if you were forced to choose, would you rather have a common name (i.e. Jennifer or Christopher) or a trendy name (like Madison or Aidan)?

Here's a boy's name that came up yesterday:

Dorian

I like it and my husband loves it. I like that it is Greek, literary, and has a balanced sound with our last name. But I wonder if people would mistake it for a girl's name?

Some more weird names in my data entry job:

Clay Sell
Rolf Mowatt-Larsen
______ Fygi
Cooke and Bacon (in the same office)
Napoleon Avery

What do you guys think of the name Kali? I've been thinking of naming a character of mine that.

Well since I just joined this community, I'm not sure how recent one of you guys may have done this already, but here is an article I found on a list of Celebrity baby names.

The comments below the names are not mine, just so you know.

Very odd )

What do you think of the name Susanna?

It's a huge family name in my family, but everyone always says, "Oh don't you cry for me!" when I ask them "What do you think of the name Susanna?"

If you had a friend named Susanna would you automatically want to call her Susie?

i'm commenting on one post... and it makes me wanna make a new post! lol sorry. i'm just copying/pasting from my comment.

my question is:

have you come across anyone named after a dead family member/friend... like, they were named as a token of rememberance?

ok, my best friend is naming one of her sons *first name or middle* Atticus; i may as well.
story behind:

her best guy friend (ergo, one of my friends/aquaintances) in High School was a huge skater and always sported at least one item on him that was of the Atticus line. So she dubbed him, and his nickname became Atticus, and after a year or so no one remembered to call him by his real name - he just BECAME 'Atticus'; even to his family. lol.

He joined the Army after high school, was shipped to Iraq, made it home after infantry touring, sadly died in an accident while stationed in KY.
So i think we're going to bring that name into more common-place use in his memory. :) i think it's a lovely name. :D

I heard a mother talking to her daughter today while I was out and about. At one point she called her Alanis Victoria. What do you think of that?

Also, Sawyer is no longer just a boy name. It, too has been taken by a girl named Sawyer Anne Marie.
