Callum is okay, but Taite could be simplified to, uh, Tate.

Do people usually make Romeo comments to you or your daughter? I am definitely naming my daughter, when I have one, Juliet but it's something I think about.

Maybe once or twice a week we run into someone with that comment. Our favorite reply is "Daddy chased him away." ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves the name, though- most people comment on how pretty it is, but no one names their kids Juliet!

Hah, that's cute. I don't think naming you child Juliet is as bad as naming it Romeo or at least I would think Juliet wouldn't get as many comments.

Yeah I think it's the prettiest name in the world When I was little I named all my dolls Julie, but then as I got older, like 12, I decided I would name her Juliet and call her Julie sometiems.

I like it. I really like the name Delanie/Delaney/HOWEVER you want to spell it. Put it this way - if there were four Delaney's in her class at school, what are the chances their names will be spelled Delanie?

I like Callum Taite, too, especially the second name.

These are YOUR choices, no one else's! Not everyone will like a particular name, which is why I never take it personally when someone makes fun of/disagrees with a name. You chose these names for a reason, right? Be happy with your choices :)

Not meaning to be rude, but I always thought that the logic behind yoonik names was so that you wouldn't be called, say, "Delaney B." during school. How would spelling it differently help with that (besides confusing poor children trying to write Valentine's Day cards)?

(Of course, I never got that bit of logic either. I always thought it was so freakin' cool when there was another Meagan in the class, especially if it was spelled the same as mine.)

Oh, and all that's not saying yoonik names are bad, I just don't understand the logic if the only reason they're being picked is for their uniqueness. I have indeed seen people name their children names they don't even like simply because 'no one else will have this name', and that confuses me.

You mean there is someone else in the world besides me who didn't care when someone else in the class had the same name as them? The way people go on and on about how horrible it was to be "Jennifer F" had me thinking that I was really the only person in the world who didn't mind having an adjective tacked onto my name for clarification. (I've been "short Jess" or "little Jess" or some variation of that since I was 8 or so).

I know! I mean, I was never given a nickname like that, but I always wanted one. And any heartache I might've suffered from being "Meagan B" (which I never was, if only because all the teachers I've had were more fond of saying "YOU! OVER THERE! IN THE RED SHIRT! C'MERE!" than using names)? Still better than what I might've suffered while looking for little novelty souveniers and the like with "Maclyzzidny". I mean, as a kid I was always upset when there were no 'Meagan' keychains, only 'Megan', and it wasn't like it was incredibly hard to find 'Meagan'.

I actually think Delaney/Delanie is a pretty name. Brooklyn is on my naughty list, but so are all place names. Callum is all right, but I would spell Taite "Tate." Overall, no, no screwing for life took place here. Just don't name another daughter Paris or anything ;)

That's what I thought too, because I've never heard it pronounced before! But with this spelling I figured I'd been wrong, and it actually rhymes with Melanie - which is nicer, think... But I don't know.

Delanie and Callum make a wonderful sibset.
Do prefer Tate without the extra i. If there's a particular reason behind the Taite spelling then keep it, otherwise it seems unecessary.
