So, my daughter's name is Delanie Brooklyn. Did I screw her for life?

Oh, and if I ever have a son, Im planning on naming him Callum Taite.

I was going to go ballistic about Brooklyn until I read the meaning behind it.
Delanie's all right - actually this spelling makes more sense to me than Delaney which looks like it should be pronounced Dell-AY-nee.

and Callum Tate is fine without the extra e. I like it.

I thought it WAS pronounced that way...? Or is it pronounced like Melanie? If it is, my first thought was that it was just an alternate spelling of Delaney but pronounced that way still.

That's what I thought too, because I've never heard it pronounced before! But with this spelling I figured I'd been wrong, and it actually rhymes with Melanie - which is nicer, think... But I don't know.

Anyone? Does this name rhyme with Melanie or is it stressed on the second syllable?

(I'm such a geek. Hello, fellow grad woman.)

i'm pretty sure 'delanie' is pron. dell-AY-nee. i know a mell-AY-nee and i LOVE it. if i ever have a daughter, i seriously might use that on her.
