Hi everyone! I need your input/opinion on a first name...

I personally really like the name Micaiah (Mee-kah-yah). The first time I heard that name, it was for a girl. After looking it up on the net, I noticed that it was more often referred has a boy name and on some places has unisex. I was a bit surprised. After reading the origin of the name, I understood why. However, I find that it makes a prettier girl name. I would use the variant form Micah (My-kah) for a boy instead, for example.

Basically, I wanted to know what are your thoughts about the gender of this name. Do you see it more for a girl or a boy?

Also, while we are at it... If anyone has suggestions for a girl middle name that'll go well with it, that'll be great :)

Thanks!

So I think we've finally got it down to 2 possible middle names for baby number 4 here, after much debate and arguing and throwing in the towel :P

1.  Lucian Maxim (he spelled it Maxxim once and I'm not sure how I feel on it becuz I usually don't like messing with name spellings too much, but it kind of looks cool in a way I guess)

2.  Lucian Alexander (Alexander is a family name on my side.  His issue with this one is that then our 3rd boy is the only one that ISN'T named after someone)

Also, the last name would be Mitchell.

So which do you think?

We just found out we're having a girl! we were completly expecting a boy so had names lined up but we are struggleing with girls names. We like "pretty" "feminine" names like Daisy, Emily (taken by the cat!), Sarah etc

I would REALLY like my first name to be the babys middle name, so...
________ Keely (Ann) S______.
I like adding the Ann, maybe even merging it with Keely to be Keelyann. My preference is Kaitlin Keely Ann S____.

Names I love are:
Aubrey (which he hates)
Kaitlynn (which he prefers as Caitlin, but will settle for Kaitlin)
Sarah
Ava
Emmeline / Emelia

Names he loves are:
Anabelle / Isabelle
Bethany (I dont like Beth)
Holly (which I dislike)
Abigail

any ideas ladies? We dont have to have the names we mentioned, those are examples of what we like.
Thanks!

Oh really?

I think a lot of big pop culture phenomenons affect what people name their children. I've read articles that say Twilight, Harry Potter, and even Teen Mom have made certain names popular.

Now, The Hunger Games is a popular book series, and the movie just had the third-highest opening weekend ever. But the names are very distinct; a lot are quite odd. So, my question: do you think any THG-related names are going to become popular, or are they just too strange? Have you seen them on any children yet?

Just some of the names from the series behind the cut. )

I remembered today that a few yeas ago I had a darling little girl in my class whose middle name was Trouble. Mom stated that because she was sick throughout the pregnancy and both she and the baby almost died during delivery, the name was fitting! Her first name was Shamira her two brothers were Shemar and Shamel.
