Hi everyone! I need your input/opinion on a first name...

I personally really like the name Micaiah (Mee-kah-yah). The first time I heard that name, it was for a girl. After looking it up on the net, I noticed that it was more often referred has a boy name and on some places has unisex. I was a bit surprised. After reading the origin of the name, I understood why. However, I find that it makes a prettier girl name. I would use the variant form Micah (My-kah) for a boy instead, for example.

Basically, I wanted to know what are your thoughts about the gender of this name. Do you see it more for a girl or a boy?

Also, while we are at it... If anyone has suggestions for a girl middle name that'll go well with it, that'll be great :)

Thanks!

I've read it as Mee-ky and prefer the spelling of Mehkai. I have seen it for both girls and boys.

To me, it reads muh-KY-uh and sounds distinctly feminine.

it has all the same vowels as Isaiah so it seems it should pretty much rhyme. it could do for a boy name, but as it's not that common I don't think most people who've never heard it would see it that way. I do like micah for a boy, though.

It seems pretty unisex to me. At first, I thought it was a variant of Micah and thought "boy," and then it reminded me of the name Mariah and I thought "girl." So I'm kind of stumped.

Female Middle Name Suggestions:

Micaiah Lee
Micaiah Jane
Micaiah Rose
Micaiah Helen
Micaiah Sophie
Micaiah Wren
Micaiah Ruby
Micaiah Jill
Micaiah Erin
Micaiah Lucy

I once had a female student named Makiyah (muhk-eye-uh), so I see it as a girls name and think it would be a little weird on a boy.

If it's usually a boys' name (origin), then that's what I would consider it (boy) and...there ya go. *shrugs* ^^
