[identity profile] keelybird.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
We just found out we're having a girl! we were completly expecting a boy so had names lined up but we are struggleing with girls names. We like "pretty" "feminine" names like Daisy, Emily (taken by the cat!), Sarah etc

I would REALLY like my first name to be the babys middle name, so...
________ Keely (Ann) S______.
I like adding the Ann, maybe even merging it with Keely to be Keelyann. My preference is Kaitlin Keely Ann S____.

Names I love are:
Aubrey (which he hates)
Kaitlynn (which he prefers as Caitlin, but will settle for Kaitlin)
Sarah
Ava
Emmeline / Emelia

Names he loves are:
Anabelle / Isabelle
Bethany (I dont like Beth)
Holly (which I dislike)
Abigail

any ideas ladies? We dont have to have the names we mentioned, those are examples of what we like.
Thanks!

ok, taking over this post.. but Aubrey, being a male name, doesn't really fit with "pretty"and "feminine"..

I like all of your picks except Kaitlynn, and of his picks, I like Anabelle/Isabelle and Abigail. For some reason, Ava and Sarah seem like the best picks because they're the shortest and don't end in the "ee" sounds, which might be repetitive with Keely.

In my mind Kaitlynn and Keely are too close. (Maybe just because I'm a Katherine, and everyone always shortens Kat/Kait names to Katie or Kate whether you want them to or not?)

Pretty, girly, flowery names off the top of my head: Amelia, Isabelle, Mirabelle, Esme, Ella, Zinnia, Rosemary, Catriona, Fiona, Juliet, Lavender, Delphine, Clover, Echo, Saffron, Violet/Violetta, Scarlett, Savannah, Primrose or Rosalyn or Rosie, Annemarie, Lily or Liliana, Arabella, Iris, Juliana, Gabrielle, Corabelle, Poppy, Ivy, Tatiana, Marigold, Adelaide, Everly.

Congrats! :)

I like Anabelle a lot and I really love Annabeth (from one of my favourite book series). Any of the 'A' names others have mentioned above are nice too.
