The first baby of 2012 born in Quebec was Tyler Stephen, born at exactly midnight to Teresa and Andrew.

Some recent births in Montreal:
Sam Stone - sister Chloe, parents Lori and Georges
Tyler Chase - brothers Jake and Ryan, parents Jessica and Arie
Parker Avery - parents Michelle and Jeff
Michael Jake - brother Zachary, parents Josee and Joshua

The Greater Toronto Area's first baby of 2012 is Ming Shui ("good fortune") to parents Li Zhang and unnamed husband.  They just beat out Bentley James, born to Jessica and Justin, and Mya Olga, who joins her brothers Michaelangelo and Gianluca and parents Rob and Margherita
The first baby born in Winnipeg, Noah Nicholas Nehemiah, was born to 2 residents of Nanuvut, Anne Rose and Didji, who had travelled to the city to give birth as the care in their town was not sufficient and women have to deliver in either Winnipeg or Iqalut.
Moncton's first baby is Augustine (her mother's maiden name), to Ashoani and Shelby.A
And in Vancouver, the first baby is Isabella Maria, parents Jessica and Chris.
In Saskatoon, the first baby is Kostya, to Dima and Faira
AND finally in Medicine Hat, Alberta, parents Bobbi Jo and Kurt gave birth to their 4th child (all under 4) and SECOND first baby of the new year, Grace Olivia.  In 2011, their song Jack was the first baby born in Regina. Both children were premature and only due in Feb; no word on what the other 2 children are named.

I just found this article about how Nameberry has a list of name predictions for 2012.  I think it's kind of silly to try to predict what people will name their kids because sometimes a name surges out of nowhere, and sometimes it experiences a slow climb.  WDYT?
