Emma Lee, Emmalee or Emily? If we have a daughter (someday), I've been tossing around a few names.

Elise Raelynne

Leah Louise

OR

Emmalee Virginia

WDYT? My son's name is Austin Alan.

Spelling-wise, I say definitely Emily. Emma Lee and Emmalee seem kinda southern I guess but I personally enjoy traditional spellings.

Of the first names, I like Emily the best. Emily Louise.

Emma Lee is way to cutesy
Emmalee makes you look illiterate
Emily is nice, if overused

The name will be said out loud far, far more than it's ever spelled. Why the misspellings?

I like Elise, Leah, and Virginia.

I prefer Emily. To me the female form of Lee is Leigh, so it would be Emma-Leigh

I really love the Em- names but they are just too popular. I like Emma or Emily, although Emmeline could be a cute alternative.

Love Leah (prn Lee-ah) or Leigh. I think that's really cute with your son.

My name is Emily and personally I love it. The only other spelling I really like is Emilie.

One of the girls I work with is named Emma Lee, and personally I don't like the way the name is split but sounds like "Emily." Emmalee is a little better, but I'm not a huge fan of the L-E-E spelling. I prefer Emmaleigh/Emma-leigh. My friend's name is Kayleigh and she loves the L-E-I-G-H spelling, even though she has to be very clear when spelling it aloud for people.

My name is Emilie so I was going to suggest it.

I prefer Emily. But you could hyphenate. Then it doesn't look like some made up name.

Eg. Emma-Lee or Emma-Leigh or Emma-Lea.

No real difference to having a baby named Emma-Jane or Emma-Kate, which were both pretty popular when I was a kid.

Emily. The other two seem redundant and TTH (though Emma Lee, if I'm being completely objective, isn't bad at all).

I don't care for Raelynne at all. =\ The name is made-up and trendy in a bad way, IMO. The spelling is ridiculous, and I think that's what is bothering me the most about it. If I were personally going to give my child a sing-song name that has no actual basis in history, I'd spell it as straightforwardly as possible.

I like Leah Louise and Emily* Virginia a lot. Very classy.

TTH - Trying Too Hard

Honestly, there's so nice-looking way to spell it in my eyes. Raelyn is what I've always seen when I've come across the name, and even though I hate it, I'd personally go with that. It seems to be the mainstream spelling. The extra 'ne' is a bit too much. =\

Ah! If that's a family name, go for it. :) It's really sweet.

Emma on it's own is uber popular right now, so if you're cool with that (probably more likely to be shortened by friends with the first two spellings) they are nice names.

Elise is my favorite of all of those, even though it is my husband's ex-girlfriend's name, lol.

She'd probably still be close enough to the huge surge even if it falls a bit on the "most popular" list or whatnot. That said, it doesn't have to be a bad thing! Popular names are often popular for a reason--many are very appealing, and that is a pretty one!

Only Emily or Emilie. Anything else looks obnoxious. Elise, Leah Louise and Virginia are nice. Realynne and any other form of that name is really, really awful.

Two middle names? Unless the names are Rae and Lynne, in which case it's just as obnoxious.

Yeah, I'd just stick with Lynne, Louise, or Diana. Rae/Ray is very filler and too commonly tacked on to other names to make new names. It's the new Nevaeh.

Wow, I know someone with a baby son named Austin Alan. Didn't think I'd see the combo repeated.

Emmalee is a little too phonetic. Emily looks fine. I personally like the sound of Emily Louise---Leah Louise is a little too alliterative.

Emily, Emma or Emmeline are the only ones I would use. I do like the French versions of them as well.

Oh and Raelynne reminds me of Justified. The main character is Ralyn and he is a male... It just sounds trendy to me.

I love the name Emma, and I have an Emily in the family so I'm neutral to it. Emmalee, I'm torn on; it's almost like I kind of expect it to have its own pronounciation, but then get a little disappointed when I find out it doesn't. But, due to my love of Emma, I want to like it. Emma Lee to me, is one of those double names like Mary Ann, etc.
