A blog I read had a post about the most popular names of 2010 so far so I'm posting the links to the lists below for discussion:

Nameberry's Top 100 Boys' Names So Far
Nameberry's Top 100 Girls' Names So Far
Top 100 Most Unusual Names So Far (not Nameberry)

Personally I don't find many of the "most unusual names" so unusual as in they're not real names but Haitian (b) is an interesting 2010 name...

BTW here's the blog i got the links from. So far there are 66 comments with people's kids' names and requests not to steal.

We are expecting our first in December, and we're pretty much set on Rylee as a name for a girl, but what about a middle name? Could use all the suggestions we can get. For reference, last name is King.

So..

Rylee _________ King

Whatcha think?

Friends of mine have just had their second daughter - Eliana joins big sister Isabella. With an Italian surname, I think that these are both pretty.

My cousin had a little boy a few months ago, called Ryan Phillip. Nice, normal, no particular opinion on it.

My other cousin plans to call her baby, if it's a boy, Phwelyn. I'm guessing at the spelling, as it's a made up name. Apparently it's from an RPG game that her and her husband play. It makes me sad. If the baby is a girl, they'll call her Chloe.

WDYT?

The other day I came across some articles on name nerds about virtue names. I like a surprising number of virtue names, particularly given the Puritan/religious connotations that go with them. Here are two lists from the site. The first are old school Puritan names (many, many made me giggle). The second list is a collection of more modern virtue names. WDYT?

Here's the next round! There was one tie between Cordelia and Dahlia. And I made a mistake on the first round Sabastian is supposed to be Sebastian. Have fun!

This or That? )
