Today Nameberry's blog posed this question: why do we love the names we love?

I thought it was interesting and I was curious to see what your favorite names are and if you can pin point why you love them.

I'll give it a try. )

Sorry, I've been away from LJ and life as we know it for the better part of three months, and I apologise if everyone has already seen this, but I thought of you lot when it popped up.

all of us have different styles of naming and most have a long list of names they like - but what about our parents?  what names were your parents considering (for the opposite gender and for the gender you are) and why did they go with that name over the others?

my names )
are you happy they chose your name they ended up deciding on or do you wish they had gone with another of their choices?

It's a boy – a bit early! – for Tisha Campbell-Martin, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The actress and husband Duane Martin welcomed son Ezekiel Czar Martin on Tuesday at 10:20 a.m. in Los Angeles. The baby, who wasn't due until the 21st of this month, weighed in at 9 lbs., 9 oz and is 23 inches long. Ezekiel joins big brother Xen, 8, at home.

Ezekiel and Czar together sound almost like each parent got to choose a name.  I don't remember ever hearing Xen's middle name.  Interesting that both names carry the "zee" sound.

I'm five months pregnant and am having trouble coming up with names. My SO and I don't want to know the sex until the baby is born. We can't think of any names that we both like and none of them feel like the one. We already have a daughter, Luella Frances. We would like a name similar to that. Any suggestions?

The previous owners of our house subscribed to Parenting (The early years) magazine.  We got the last issue before it was redirected to their new address.  It's been here for a while, so I apologize if this has been posted but I just got around to reading it and saw this poll:

Is it okay to give your child the same name as a friend or relative gave her baby? )What do you think?

I recently posted asking for some help with the naming of my second son. My first sons' name is Micah. I like the lesser used Bible names. We have been toying with Noah and a few others, I like Luke and Elijah, but my hubby won't  go for for them. Anyway, today I was suddenly reminded of the name Asa. Asa was a King in the Old Testament. I knew someone a few years ago who named her baby boy Asa and I thought it was awesome. I no longer work with her and her son is about 6 or so now and I doubt we will ever see each other again except in passing.
Anyway, I don't know if I like it enough to use it even though I think it is so cool. I think my husband feels it sounds feminine. I could see where that might happen. What do you think... upon first hearing Asa, what were your thoughts? We really don't want any unisex names. I know that some consider Micah to be one, but  it is also an Old Testament Bible name and definitely male.

Thanks for any thoughts!
