So a few years ago I worked in a theater as an assistant director, my directors name (he swore it was his real name) was:

Gilgamesh Angus

he had a daughter, who he named :

Ambrosia Rose

thoughts?

personally, i think my friend summed it up best about Ambrosia when he said "I think the line between wordnames and words is drawn somewhere before flaked coconut desserts."
also, the historical context of Gilgamesh (the epic of gilgamesh being the first recorded story), is neat, but i don't like the name itself.

also, what do you think about multiple middle names, for instance my exes best friends middle names were the names of HER father and his five brothers, or how Dumbledores name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore ?

i think two is the most i'd really do.

I posted my dad's side yesterday, so here is...

I don't know all the middle names, spouses and ages...

So a few days ago I asked you guys what you thought of Gabriel. The response was pretty favourable. I'd like to update and ask what you think of the first/middle combo Gabriel Phineas (our last name starts with an S and it makes my husband giggle geekily that the initials would be GPS).

Hebrew name would be Gavriel Pinchas.
Gabriel we just like and Pinchas (the Hebrew form of Phineas) was actually the name of Hubby's late Bubbie's little brother who died in the Holocaust. We actually have a photo of Bubbie Shaindel and her brother as small children on our mantle. Hubby really didn't know that this was his name but when he picked Phineas/Pinchas as a middle for Gabriel, I pointed to the photo and said "Like Bubbie's brother!" and that made him like it more I think.

His 8 year old cousin Daniel's Hebrew name is Pinchas too but I don't think it's a huge conflict as it will only be a middle name for our kid if we use it and the kids don't go by their Hebrew names anyway.

This got really long, sorry! The point is Hubby loves this combo and it is growing on me though I don't want to make a commitment just yet and I wondered what you all thought of it?

I've heard the names Darcey/Darcy and Coley a few times lately. Both for females. I don't know if I'd actually use either of them, but they sound wonderfully British to me (which is a good thing. Love that). What do y'all think of these names?

This is just random/for fun. Posting pictures of myself and my nephew and two nieces. Just based on looks, what would you name us? You can pretend they are my kids if you like, that might be more fun. If this was just me and my three kids, what should our names be? Don't cheat and look at my profile, cause all the names are on there. lol. :-P

My sister just had her baby last night.  I know I'm biased but my niece is perfect.  :D  Her name is:

Leona Jean.

WDYT?

ETA:  They are both family names.  Leona - grandmother, Jean - cousin's middle name.

Oh shiz ladies and gents, I've heard the worst baby name ever. It's so horrible I beg you to look away for fear that you eyeballs will melt out of their sockets...OK, I'm being overdramatic, but anyway.

My older sister's friend named her little girl...
Paris Nichole.

What are the most common names you see paired together? For instance, I know SO many people who have kids that are some combination of Michael, Brian and Matthew.

Boy: I have loved the name Tristan since... wow, since I was like nine or 10 years old. I'm not sure I'd use it, but I still love it.
Girl: I love the way the names Elle, Ella and Ava sound, and I always picture a cute, dainty little girl with those names... but it was so popular (and maybe still is?), that I'm unsure if I'd ever use it.

What are your guilty pleasure names? Would you ever use them?
