I disagree with a lot of these. I know people with some of these names and they are far from ever being rich/wealthy...

One of my LJ screen names contains the first three letters of my first name and the first three letters of my middle name. So I thought what some family/friends names would be created using the same format.

I'll star the ones that could potential work as a name. Necessarily not always good names! LOL.

Found under the fabolous cut )

What names can you create with your same format with your family/friends?

I'm a huge Our Lady Peace fan and have been since I was about 9. It got me thinking of names related to them.

WDYT of Naveed. It's a boys name meaning "best wishes".

Also OLP related:
Oskar
Annie*
Dylan
Hope
Julia*
Zenith*
Sara
Johnny
Tina

Naveed is really growing on me. Likely as a middle name possibility. Felix Naveed McN___? Simon Naveed McN___?

The lead singer, Raine Maida, and his wife, Chantal Kreviazuk, just had their third son on June 28 (and I saw OLP in concert on the 29th...) and they named him Salvador Daniel. He joins big brothers Rowan and Lucca.

I've only ever met one person with the name Janine. What do you think of it? Personally I don't like it all that much, but I don't think I like any name with the "een" sound in it. I think it's a nice name though, just not for me.

When she was 6, she spelled it Ja9 :p

Hi all -

This is pretty far removed from naming actual babies, but I would really like some input.  I just planted my first little garden. I am really excited to grow my own food and flowers, but I usually kill everything, even cacti! Will you help me name my plants for good luck? Give me all your guilty pleasure names, names you love but can't use for whatever reason, etc. I am not a weirdo who names every single thing I own, I just thought this would be fun.

I have:
Dahlias
Marigolds
Peppermint
Sage
Chives
Leeks
Rosemary
Radishes
Tomatoes
Baby Lettuce

Ok, go for it. I will post the names I choose if you guys are interested. Thank you so much!

(Edit - I appreciate all the input, but I would really like "original" names, as in I don't want to name the Rosemary Rose, Mary, Rosemary etc.)

I work at a reference lab, so we see a lot of weird names with our patients. Some of unusual ones from the past couple days.

Miroslawa
Yulan
Alon
Daequan
Nurcihan
Dionizia

WDYT?

Tony Hawk had a new baby: Kadence Clover. I like Clover but think Kadence is  gross. He has three sons, Riley, Spencer and Keegan. I like Riley on a girl, Spencer's kinda cute and I hate Keegan. Also, his wife's name is Lhotse...?!

Sooo,

This post is about this post, so read that before this:]

Anyway, I first off want to thank all of those who responded with the awesome name suggestions. I thought about all of them, and if I'm not mistaken, Evelyn popped up somewhere.
I really love the name Evelyn. But I'm having difficulty deciding which pronunciation I should use. I could say:
EH-veh-lyn
or
EE-veh-lyn

Honestly, I lik the first pronunciation better, but I also like the nicknames "eve" and "evie", and the second pronunciation would "allow" that, I guess you could say. "Ev" and "Ehvie" sound kind of weird, you know? But then, EE-veh-lyn sounds like "evil" and I don't like that:[. So, yeah, ideas?

Second thing about the name, the spelling. Evelyn looks...awkward to me, you know? But over the course of a week, how many times am I going to spell the name out, especially if it's a nickname? Not a lot, if any. But...still.
I think it's the "y" that's throwing the name off, so do you guys have any alternate spellings? Evelin?

Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!

(PS-I'm still open to new name suggestions entirely, so if you have one, go ahead and tell me!)

Sibsets?

So, I realize that my style may seem a little whacked, but thats ok. I'm trying to narrow down names to names I would really, really use on a child (not pregnant...bored, actually:) I was going through my list sorting names and it struck me that my name styles are varied...to the point that sibsets might be silly. If you folks have a moment, would you help out? In an ideal world I would want 3-4 kids, but who knows. I'm 32 now with no plans to ttc in the foreseeable future, so who knows, the names may end up on pets:)

I've been a little worried that my favs all seem to end in -a for the girls and -an or -en for the boys. Anyway, you don't have to like the names, but do you see any that would make good sib sets? If you need pn help, just ask:)

Thanks!
